Rowrah Hall was simply the most beautiful and bucolic place we've stayed at during our three week travels throughout the UK. It was like staying in a castle, beautiful building, beautiful rooms, lovely grounds, all the creature comforts you could ask for as well as the most luxurious bed and pillows! Our host was most gracious with great travel tips for us! Sorry we only stayed one night, could have stayed the entire trip!

I think this place is very good for exploring Cumbria that most do not see (on the west coast), myself and my sons have travelled the coastline and trust me it is worth it. OK it is not a million miles from the mountain areas (Ennerdale), the road network is really good so if you do not feel like going up on the rock travel the coastline, you will not be disappointed, stormy days are best, it is awesome, beautiful England.
