Kacey could not be a more accommodating host. She also prepared great meals for dinner and breakfast and was able to accommodate all special dietary request for our group. To top it off her entire facility is extremely eco conscious. I would highly recommend the Burnside Cottage.

Really nice and clean apartment with plenty of room for 4 of us. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals. Backyard area was pleasant for sitting outside. The host is accommodating and very easy to communicate with. Great value for a great place!

The house was very fine, delightfully quirky and full of character reflecting its long family associations and interests. My hosts were charming to the extent I felt very much at home. I left with reluctance!

I have been to Wick many times because there is plenty to see and do.
This time we headed to John o Groats to the Puffin Croft Petting Farm which was such a joy.The lady who owns the farm is there to greet you and tell you about the goats, the sheep, the pigs, the donkeys, the rabbits and the Shetland pony - hope I haven't missed one!
One place you must look for is the shortest street in the world which is in Wick.

Wick itself is a pretty but windswept and deeply depressed town. There is not a great deal to do in March - the walk to the castle was nice although I was almost blown off my feet. I had half a day there which was more than enough time to do everything that was open in the town. I plan to go back and explore the surrounding area over a couple of days,

Wick is an interesting old town in an interesting part of Scotland. There are many archaeological sites around worth seeing. The town has lovely places to eat, a super museum and places to walk or even swim in open water.

Wick itself looked rather shabby in places (probably looks better at high tide) and was very quiet when we were there. It is a good stop-off when moving up the coast between Inverness and John O'Groats with an interesting castle on the coast just north and other archeological sites close by. It has a good Tesco with reasonably priced fuel and we found a good pizza take-away in the town centre.
The accommodation was good and as expected, but located in a deserted part of the town just back from the harbour. Ours was the only car parked on the road overnight but the area seemed very safe.

Wick is an awful run down town and the accommodation was a disgrace and certainly not as advertised and shall be requesting a refund for mis representation of property. This is not a hotel and certainly not an inn, just a room over a derelict shop
Close to railway station & town centre, ie all within walking distance.
Nice view of the harbour
Room had menus for places to eat out & B&B offered to provide cutlery etc if I ordered takeaway
Room set up to provide cooked breakfast in the room, although I had a breakfast to take away as had early morning train. This was delivered to my room - brilliant service.
There was a place to store my bicycle
Room & hotel were warm
Spacious room & bathroom
excellently laid out accommodation, very clean and modern. great location and parking simply at front door. bedrooms were cosy and cleanliness was exceptional throughout the property. everything supplied that any family or individual would need to enhance the stay. Fantastic location to explore Caithness and onwards to Orkney. I have stayed in all the local hotels over many years but from now on this little gem will be our destination if available.
Fantastic property! It actually exceeded our expectation. Clean, warm and nicely decorated house. It has everything we needed. Comfy beds, great kitchen and bathroom, TV, good wifi. Great location, quiet place, easy access, easy to park a car.
Keys in the lockbox - very useful if you are not sure what time you may arrive. Very good communication with the host -no problems at all. Definitely on our list, if we will be back to Wick one day.
Everything was perfect. Our room was absolutely beautiful. Attention was paid to every detail making it extremely comfortable. And best of all Stewart the owner was a personable and outstanding host. The location was great and parking was right outside the door. If you are heading to Wick, this is the place to stay.
Didn't have to search - 1st guest house on right as enter Wick - welcome by Graeme and recommended fish dinner at nearby hotel.
Also gave top directions to famous historic Whalligoe steps not signposted on road.
Fabulous scrambled eggs made with cream and smoked haddock breakfast.
Everything about this stay was wonderful. It's an idea location for exploring this remote part of Scotland, the host Kacey was an absolute joy, and the room was very comfortable. Meals were great, too, and served in the room -- which felt like a total luxury!
very comfortable and spacious. great for a family because you can put the kids to bed in a separate room. the manager is super informative and responsive. good location to spring to everything in NE Scotland. absolute recommendation from our family!
Lovely hotel in Wick & perfect location if you are on the NC500.
The room was spotlessly clean & very spacious. Breakfast was yummy 😋
I would also recommend booking into The Bistro at the hotel as the food was delicious.
Everything was fantastic and host was great and very good with communication that great we have booked again already can't wait to go back great location only minutes from the centre of wick
The hotel was clean and comfortable with a good menu selection in the restaurant. There was lots of offering for breakfast both hot and cold. We slept very well during our stay.
Very friendly proprietors who gave me helpful information about walking in the area. Well run, characterful and comfortable hotel, spotlessly clean. Enjoyable stay.
The property is well located just in Pulteneytown overlooking Wick Harbour. It is spacious and well equipped. All the rooms are comfortable and the property is cosy.
