Exmoor House, hotel in Wheddon Cross

Located just 33 km from Tiverton Castle, Exmoor House offers accommodation in Wheddon Cross with access to a garden, a tennis court, as well as luggage storage space.

Owners were welcoming and engaging. Peter and Izzy made us feel at home. The room, lounge and breakfast room spotless. Choice of breakfast menu was excellent and food enjoyable and plentiful. There were a number of personal touches included which made the rooms interesting telling stories and paintings which added quality to the premises and less like a plain b&b and more like your home. Decor of the rooms was fresh and pleasant. When we visit the area again we shall certainly choose Exmoor House for our stay.

The Royal Oak Exmoor, hotel in Wheddon Cross

This charming 12th-century farmhouse is set in the peaceful village of Winsford, in Exmoor National Park. It offers individually styled rooms with free Wi-Fi throughout.

Lovely double aspect room which was quiet despite being above restaurant/bar area and road immediately adjacent. Shower was absolutely superb. Breakfast did the job but I have to say that our meal the evening before (where we were joined by a large family group) was absolutely exceptional ! Made to feel very welcome, thank you.

Great location for visiting Exmoor and surrounding locations...

Great location for visiting Exmoor and surrounding locations, lots to do and see, plenty of walking, lots of nice pubs and tea rooms. Dunster beach is great for the dog, even in Summer, and Dunster town is lovely with the castle and some nice shops . Minehead is also close and we would recommend Withypool and Exford. Beautiful scenery and a walk up Dunkery Beacon is a must.

The property and surrounding area was amazing.

The property and surrounding area was amazing. We especially liked the huge glass doors/windows in the lounge which gave a spectacular view of the landscape. Lots of lovely walks available. The rooms in the house were big and beautifully furnished Closed in garden at the back good for the dog. Baby had lots of space to practice his new walking skills :-) . We went to the local pub .. ‘rest and be thankful’ for Sunday lunch . Delicious carvery . Worth a visit. Added a photo of the view from the house
