We had an evening meal and this was very good, also a dessert. Location is ideal as it is very handy for Buxton and the Peak District, only a few miles down the road. It is situated on a main road but there is not much traffic so it is very peaceful and the countryside views are lovely. You can also drive or walk down to Fernilee Reservoir, a short distance further up the road where there are spectacular views in every direction. The staff that looked after us were very welcoming and even helped us up to our room with our bags. Our little dog enjoyed his stay there too!
Convenient for one overnight stay as central. Needs more facilities if staying for longer.
Owner didn't seem to realise we weren't a couple and needed separate beds so we were a bit short of bedding.

Loved the town.
Loved the town. A proper working town and nice walks locally. Also really close to Goyt Valley which is beautiful.
Saturday was tricky as used to late night restaurants in Cambridge. The curry restaurant sorted that. After that we made sure of service times. The Cock pub did awesome food and great veggie food too. Lovely staff too.
