Midway between Southwold and Aldeburgh, this modernized, rustic inn has an excellent restaurant and refurbished, stylish rooms. It is an ideal base for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

We had very comfortable beds and the room was warm. They provided a nice dog bed, treats and towel and our dog was made welcome.

The hotel was in a great location in Southwold which is a lovely, unspoilt coastal Suffolk town. The staff were really friendly, chatty and helpful. Apart from the first evening where we enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast, we ate out to enjoy other pubs and restaurants in Southwold, but the breakfasts were excellent.

Well decorated room with comfortable bed. Good variety of teas, coffees and bathroom toiletries. Easy to walk into Southwold and harbour (10mins). Good location for exploring Southwold and the beach.
Good communication as I was contacted to let me know that the facilities were reduced due to flood and how to use key safe access.
Located in Walberswick, a 14-minute walk from Southwold Pier Beach, The Bell Inn provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking and a bar. This 3-star hotel offers free WiFi.
it is a very pretty village. It has a tearoom and a very efficient well stocked little shop. We walked to Dunwich and back and there are different walks in most directions from the village. The Crown was busy but very welcoming. We ate at the Crown the first evening and at The Ship at Dunwich the second evening, We love both places even though they have such different atmospheres. Westleton is well placed for a drive to Southwold or Walberswick one way or Aldeburgh the other and is a bird watchers dream location, I would guess.

Very quiet village, if you've seen The Holiday then this is very much like it 🤔😉
Two pubs, one very local, the other very chilled. Both serve a decent range of beers and great food and both really recommended
Ideal location for exploring this part of the world 👍

Decoration a little tired, restaurant good, bar a little uncomfortable. Garden was OK. Staff well trained and professionally pleasant but no real engagement and you always felt they were just doing their job. Parking at its limit, so sometimes you had to park on the road. Only one disabled parking spot near the hotel entrance - three other spots adjoining but none marked as disabled so had to park further away from hotel and room. The food was good - breakfast is a little expensive but it is freshly cooked so it probably was worth the money if you had everything! I am not sure I could manage to do that every day. Little ventilation in the cottage rooms so they are unbearable if the weather is hot. Facilities are good, including the option for fresh milk. Attention to detail is sometimes lacking - towels placed in the bath for replacement were not replaced but were just put back on the towel rail. We stayed 4 years previously and although it was a little tired then too we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were genuinely friendly and interested in you - we wanted to like it this time too, but it was disappointing. This could be a very good hotel with a little more attention to the decor, lighting of rooms and improvement of the gardens.

The free easy to access Wi-Fi.
The free easy to access Wi-Fi. The extremely friendly doggie facilities, including the purchase of posh pooch treats. The food was also very good. The king size bed was more comfortable than our bed at home!
The nearby beaches were very accessible by car. The local walks from the establishment were varied & lovely.

Really cosy guest areas and first class dining room.
Really cosy guest areas and first class dining room. Food is top quality but some items slightly expensive (the £28 steak could have been of better quality - the mousse desert was expensive at £11 - everything else was reasonable priced but all their deserts could be cheaper) Staff were first class. Rooms were very clean and beautifully presented. Ours was a tad dark in decor and painted walls (Robin room) but bed was very comfortable and plumbing was first class with gushings of hot water.

Small village with a big heart.
Small village with a big heart. Locals were very friendly and helpful. There is a village shop which is well stocked, there is a pub and a hotel both of which are dog friendly. The location is excellent with good walking trails from the village and it is just a short drive to the beach. Would certainly return
The Apple Loft is a cleverly converted space above a garage building in the owners' beautiful garden in the pretty village of Westleton, ideal for a short break close to the scenic Suffolk Coast. Kitchen facilities are limited for lack of space, so it would be challenging to do full self-catering, but there are plenty of places to eat in nearby towns and villages. There is actually a toaster as well as the kettle, microwave and fridge. The lighting, heating and wifi were all good, and the bed is comfortable.
this is the 3rd time my wife and i have stayed at the apple lodge for a weekend break , and it is as brilliant as usual , barbara and phillip are excellent hosts always have time for a chat , they run the fox inn in darsham which is brilliant for good food , the white horse inn which is just a 5 minute walk away also does great food , we love the surrounding area southwold , aldeburgh , and of course westleton itself , will be back again next year .
Westlington is an ideal spot for exploring this part of Suffolk. There is a good pub serving excellent food close by and the B&B is close to RSPB Minsmere, wonderful heathland and the Suffolk coast.
Oliver and Kate are excellent hosts who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and have everything you need. There is a choice of freshly cooked breakfasts, all of which are excellent.
Argyll House has a great location in Westleton, which is an attractive village with 2 good pubs and lovely heath and coast walking nearby. The highlights included the breakfasts (big choice and all utterly delicious), very spacious room (kingfisher), powerful shower and comfy bed. Kate and Oliver were welcoming but not intrusive. Would love to stay again.
Great location for walking in the Suffolk countryside. A perfect base for exploring. Westleton Heath across the road, five mins car journey to Dunwich Heath and Minsmere.
Good covid controls by owners and friendly and helpful before the stay sorting the keys etc
Wonderful breakfast, Kate and Oliver were extremely welcoming and made us feel most at ease from the outset. The village of Westleton was ideally situated for exploring the local area for places to eat and visit.
Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Both breakfast and evening meals are imaginative, well cooked and presented.
The public areas are comfortable and airy.
Westleton is an ideal base for lovely walks.
A lovely break in this pleasant fitted out pub / hotel in a lovely village near the coast and the Minsmere Nature reserve.
Comfy room and bathroom facilities. Serving staff were friendly and helpful.
This was at least the 5th occasion that we have stayed at The Crown and while the management have changed over the years, the high quality of service, food and accommodation have never wavered.
David and his team at the Crown were super friendly and attentive. This hotel was a gem in an excellent location for visiting both Aldeburgh and Southwold.
I loved the Apple Loft, it had everything we needed. Barbara, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. I’d definitely go again. Westleton is super village.
