The hotel is in a perfect location. There was a mix up with the room as I had booked for myself and 2 children in 1 room but they were only expecting 1 child. However the staff came and put a bed up and was soon sorted. The room was very nice, clean and tidy. The food was very good.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We selected the cheapest room as it was an over night stay. The photos made it look bigger than it was . Would recommend paying the extra for one of their other rooms (which we have stayed in and are far better.)
The evening menu was more expensive than the normal pub food but was beautifully cooked and in lovely surroundings either taken in the restaurant or the pub

Both pubs do not open until 4pm at this time of year so had to go elsewhere to find somewhere for lunch. Found a lovely place at Potter Brompton called Sally Middlewood Farm Shop & Tea Room, very good and worth a visit.

Good location for exploring this area of Yorkshire, for Moors and coast. Professional and welcoming owners and staff. The room and public area were fitted out to a very good standard, and pub and food obviously popular with travellers and locals alike. I selected it as a one night stop on my way to a tour of Scotland, but I was happy to book it again on my return trip home 👍
Description of room a bit deceiving as we thought we had booked a room with a patio and private entrance, when we arrived at the hotel we were shown a room on 1st floor above the bar, it seems the patio is shared at the back of the restaurant and private entrance is the fire escape stairs, we had to pay extra for a room away from bar in a separate block, which did have a patio and separate entrance, overall very pleasant stay. Evening meal was outstanding,
In close proximity to local resorts. During our stay there we were able to visit various beauty spots along the coast. We were allowed to take our Bedlington terrier to the hotel and all the staff were pleasant and kind. Food gorgeous and service brilliant. We would highly recommend this hotel. Marvellous value for the money we paid.
The room was a small twin but as it was only one night that wasn't a problem, it was very clean and the breakfast was a lovely start to the day. The young man who served us had exception customer service, very polite and just the right interaction, but as it is an independent village pub/hotel all the staff were very pleasant.
The property was very clean and the staff were very friendly. It is an old hotel and it is quite quaint. The decor is a little dated but maybe that is part of it’s charm. The breakfast which was included in the price was very nice.
Breakfast very good location good close to seaside town's or Thornton le Dale staff amazing good food a la carte very dog friendly hotel homely good car parking good selection of drinks several eating areas
Very comfy beds, great wet room. Impressed with the little personal touches such as chocolates, sweets, tissues, face cloths, definately recommend this hotel
