room was small but comfortable. I was only staying for one night, but paper cups etc were not ideal - would prefer proper cups in room. Bed was comfortable, nice pillows and towels etc.

When we entered the room. It was too much perfume smell… we couldn’t open the window and had to just wait.

I grew up here (many years ago) and go back to visit friends and family. It has a much more cosmopolitan feel these days and there are many great bars and restaurants. It is well worth a visit - an easy train ride (or slightly longer, but enjoyable, bus ride) to central Manchester. Also, in the opposite direction easy to get to Liverpool, by train. Very close to the Trafford Centre (if that's your thing).
A nice, relatively small (but growing), town, well located, that is well worth a visit.
