Breakfast was very good indeed large portions well presented and prepared. I used to live in Princetown, so to ask me about the place would be a little biased.

Location, perfect, great walks directly from hotel and others further afield, so would need a car. Geese are a great attraction and distraction, love the geese. Beautiful old building lots of history, little booklets available. Lovely furnishings and artefacts, spend hours looking around. Grounds are perfect for dog owners and children and that little stroll after eating. Rooms are amazing and a step back in time with a modern twist or two. Staff are wonderful, they become your friends. Nothing is too much trouble, if they can't do it or provide it they will let you know and give you alternatives. A very people friendly approach. Another Home from Home for me.

location is perfect for walks either local or car drive away. Princetown close by, Prison Museum, Haytor has a good visitor centre and places to grab a bite. Tavistock has sister hotel, Bedford hotel, static market is great as is the 2 weekly pannier market. Geese (6) and ducks (4 ducklings) a lovely distraction.
Hotel has ambience, it's v cosy but not claustrophobic elegant but not OTT, old fashioned but not 'out of date'. Interesting artefacts, memorabilia. V comfy fireside chairs.
Lovely staff, can't do enough for you from the housekeeping crew to the reception and dining/bar staff. They care that you should have a good break.

We had the opportunity for a Bank Holiday break booked at two days notice and the Two Bridges delivered everything we wanted.
The location on Dartmoor is sheltered by the local topography, it's in a dip adjacent to the road, but offers outstanding views within a few hundred metres of the hotel for possibly twenty miles in some direction.
There is nothing of the normal near to the hotel. If you desire splendid remoteness without being massively isolated the Two Bridges is the place.
Parts of the hotel date to the late C18th, the lawned gardens provide space, the river flows through the grounds and the hotel has geese, ducks and sheep roaming free within the grounds.
The room (No 36) was excellent, the lounge, siting rooms and dining room have some wonderful artefacts from bygone eras, the food plentiful, beautifully cooked and served and the Staff were awesome.

The staff were amazing, they went above and beyond helping with every request we had, the rooms are quirky and nice, the pub is great, only down side at all was that Dinner wasn't available on Sundays - Tuesdays, the three nights we stayed.

You would struggle to find a hotel that matches the two bridges in terms of location, it's stunning and the hotel is charming. The food is very good! The only downside is the interior, aside from the restaurant it could do with a freshen up. But in terms of value for money, there are no negatives.
Lovely cosy room and very clean.Dinner was superb and there was a wide choice on the menu for breakfast which was also very good. The location was perfect and the hotel had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were most helpful and pleasant. Although the receptionist was efficient a more welcoming manner would have been appreciated. We would certainly return for another stay.
Charming, low key but twinkly hosts who made this such an easy, relaxing first hotel stay with our dog. Fantastic location for walks and views, lovely sausages for breakfast, lots of safe garden space for the dog to play and make friends. If you are lucky you might even get a live jazz concert in the evening too. You feel Chris and Sue really enjoy what they do.
Amazing ! The B&B is a 20' walk from Two Bridges, 3' by car. Breakfast was divine and they made me a sack lunch for £6 that included a sandwich, crisps, banana and KitKat, really nice.
From there, easy access to many hikes including the enchanting Wistman's woods!
The location was lovely with great walks nearby, we particularly liked the geese at the hotel. The breakfast was really good and the decor of the hotel was really interesting for the type of property.
The staff were welcoming, attentive and professional. The food was particularly good. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. I would happily recommend this hotel.
