We loved everything about this beautiful hotel that is more like living in your own manor house. We arrived bedraggled hours earlier than expected and were welcomed immediately with a beautiful breakfast and a superb room... spotless, stylish and the most magnificent water views. The owners and locals were generous with their local knowledge and we enjoyed superb hikes on Bressay and Noss to encounter an abundance of Puffins, gannets, skuas, otters etc
Staying for several nights was the best! Will definitely be back. Thank you to all of the staff for your care.

A lovely base for some bracing walks around the lochs & voes with a excellent choice of buses too taking one to Lerwick & south to Sumburgh or North to the Northern Isles or the wonderful windswept wilderness of Eshaness, home to moonwalking Shetland ponies. You’ll have to ask your cab driver about that!

We travelled through Tingwall really, to and from our apartment to Lerwick and other centres being used by Shetland Wool Week. What we did see of Tingwall matched everything else we saw in Shetland - wonderful! With more time we would like to explore Tingwall more.

I came to buy authentic Shetland knitwear and ended up buying extra luggage to accommodate my purchases! Lerwick is pricier as it's the Centre, but Jamieson's on Commercial St, and Laurence Odie in Sandwick were reasonable. Plus Jamieson's has a factory outlet in Sandness with a 'bargain bin' where if you're lucky and find your size, you can find end of season and discontinued lines for half price. The Old Has in Yell also sold authentic, handmade fair isle knitwear by the locals.
I bought food from Tesco and used the microwave and fridge facilities in the b&b and saved my self a small fortune, seeing as I was there or a week.
You can't get around Shetland without a car, seriously, don't even attempt it.
Explore the islands, it's well worth it.

Tingwall is situated only 10 minutes drive from Lerwick via a fast road. The road service there, as everywhere else is excellent. [NO POTHOLES!!!] It's position at the centre of 'The Mainland' of Shetland means that there is easy access to all parts of the islands.
A pleasant walk is to be had from the hotel to the Lochs of Griester and Tingwall.
