Very welcoming and friendly staff. Single bed very comfortable with a firm mattress. Staff very welcoming to our dogs, and you only charged a basic fee for them which was good. Hotel in a good position for walking dogs to beach, and also close to the shops.

Owners were welcoming and engaging. Peter and Izzy made us feel at home. The room, lounge and breakfast room spotless.
Choice of breakfast menu was excellent and food enjoyable and plentiful.
There were a number of personal touches included which made the rooms interesting telling stories and paintings which added quality to the premises and less like a plain b&b and more like your home. Decor of the rooms was fresh and pleasant. When we visit the area again we shall certainly choose Exmoor House for our stay.

Lovely double aspect room which was quiet despite being above restaurant/bar area and road immediately adjacent. Shower was absolutely superb.
Breakfast did the job but I have to say that our meal the evening before (where we were joined by a large family group) was absolutely exceptional !
Made to feel very welcome, thank you.
Very friendly, almost like staying with friends. In the evening food was available from a limited menu, either to eat in the cosy club bar or in one's room. As warned, there is no television in the rooms to avoid messing up the panelling and decor of this beautiful listed house. Very comfortable beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and pillows of the right softness (feathers). We prefer blankets to duvets and this was no problem. The only thing we might have liked was some sort of fish on the menu for breakfast, but this was a very slight quibble. All in all, can't recommend it enough.

The area is beautiful and lovely to explore on foot and by car. I imagine it would be good biking country too. It was sleepy at the start of October, with nothing much happening in Timberscombe itself. Dunster Castle was the highlight, with a Sunday roast at the Stag's Head Inn.

Timbersccombe is a very small village with a church and a very good pub. It is very good for walking with lots of foot paths for walks. A lot of the roads in the are are single track with some steep hills but the views are stunning.

The location was excellent on the edge of Exmoor.
The location was excellent on the edge of Exmoor. Lots of places to visit so long as you are OK with narrow country lanes. The pub next door is great. Timberscombe is in a delightful part of England
