Lovely little town with bustling high street, with lots of restaurants, bars/pubs and shops to keep your entertained. Had a lovely curry at Banjara, just a short walk from our hotel.
For steam train enthusiasts, there's the kent & East Sussex railway starting from the town centre, plus Chapel Down winery just down the road, which gives superb tours / tastings & delicious food at the Swan.

We ate at the London Beach Country Hotel.
Recommend a visit to Sissinghurst Castle garden.
Wouldn't visit Hastings again , the old part is nice but new part is not to our taste.

Tenterden is a very pretty market town surrounded by beautiful countryside. It has lots of small independent shops and plenty places to eat. The small museum is excellent and the steam trains are interesting even if you don't go on them. Just down the road is Chapel Down winery and the Ellen Terry museum , both worth a visit.
If the weather is unkind and you have children, the leisure pool is very good. To get the most out of the area you do need a car. Tenterden is served by lots of buses but not necessary very frequently.
An excellent hotel with lovely views over the golf course and countryside beyond. We were fortunate to be there on a hot summer's evening and to watch two magnificent hot air balloons launched very nearby, which then drifted away across the landscape. Idyllic. The room was large and very comfortable. The hotel staff were most friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was very good.
The accommodation is very clean modern and comfortable
The pub is really nice and my partner and I began our evening in the pub
We aimed to go into Tenterden for the evening and when enquired about getting a taxi one of the staff Brad offered to take us into tenterden ans pick us up later …a very kind and much appreciated gesture
We will definitely stay at lodge again …excellent
It was beautiful! Very peaceful location but within easy reach of Tenterden. Lovely views from every window.
Very comfortable with all the facilities you could possibly need. The bedroom was definitely restful night promoting! 😁
Stuart was very friendly and helpful.
I thoroughly recommend.
The traditional pub look downstairs mixed with a hint of quirky in the rooms, the wonderful staff and excellent food! I intend to come back with my husband in the near future. And lest I forget, it is perfectly located in the center of town with free parking for those staying overnight!
the hotel was lovely, so clean and the staff do all they can to please you. Me and my partner will definitely return here. Both Dinner & Breakfast were lovely, the staff in the restaurant were very nice and the food was served quick! couldn’t fault it.
I was at the property for 15 nanoseconds; it was a very short stay. At check-in and breakfast, the staff were all genuinely warm and friendly.
The grounds are very pretty and the location was perfect for visiting friends in Tenterden.
Beautiful quiet hotel. The room was huge and the beds very comfortable. We had an accessible room and my mother had everything she needed to make her stay comfortable. we had breakfast in the room - full english delicious.
Great location for our base to visit Chapel down. Lovely pub with good food and drinks ,a stones throw from the lodges . Very easy to find and Tenterden is only a short drive for a good choice of restaurants and shops .
Great location in the center of Tenterden. Easy access to many restaurants and bars, great for exploring Kent. The building is from the 14th century so there are physical limitations which they accommodate well.
Loved the whole stay! Staff- super friendly, Hotel - absolutely lovely, Wine- great, Tenterden was really interesting. Loved our quick trip! Will definitely be returning! Loved how querky the rooms were!
Lovely hotel, very central. Friendly staff and a great bar and garden for a pre dinner drink. A very pleasurable overnight stay. Always my first choice when we stay in Tenterden.
The whole place is quite special. Great location, sufficient space, clean, good plumbing, nicely decorated. The narrow, winding stair, as can be considered part of the charm.
The property is very well located - close to Tenterden, but far away enough to feel truly rural (it is a working farm). There is a lot space and the house is well appointed.
The location was great and an easy walk into Tenterden town centre. The house had been fully modernised with a great kitchen and bathroom as well as a nice garden.
