The cottage was as advertised. Clean and everything was in order. There were plenty of fresh supplies for breakfast . It is by the side of a main road, but there was no sound of traffic and could sleep comfortably. Shirley is an excellent host!

Strabane is well placed for visiting Donegal's Wild Atlantic Way, Giant's Causeway and places like Derry / Londonderry and Enniskillen. Lots of beautiful scenery, good food (Oysters, The Fir Trees Hotel and The Bank restaurants) and very friendly locals.

Strabane is a market town and is an ideal central hub for accessing the wonderful destinations North West Ireland has to offer. From rugged coast of Donegal to the Sperrin mountains, Fermanagh lakes and the Antrim coast (Giant;s Causeway) All are an hours drive away and L'Derry is less than 30 mins away. The town itself offers very little to the tourist. It neglects heritage sites such as Mary Alexanders's house and has no park or real focal centre. It has an OK hotel, picturesque golf course, one half decent restaurant (Oysters) a decent bar (Farmers Home) a small theatre but precious little else. So stay here but use it as a base not your destination.
