We booked on the day for 1 night as we had made last minute changes to our holiday plan due to storm Kathleen, but the host was very accommodating. She was very friendly and welcoming, and had left us bacon and eggs for breakfast! The house was pristine and had everything we would have needed for a longer stay.

The host's communication was excellent with detailed instructions on how to access the apartment. Upon arrival we were able to get into the apartment very easily and were delighted by the food and drink left for us by the host.
The value for money, cleanliness and comfortable bedding were particular highlights. We will definitely come and stay again!

The manager/owner was really friendly. A "can do" type of a man. Like that.

Small historic town, that is the ideal for travelling to Harris. There are a few historic sites to see but some of them were not open when we visited. Sunday very quiet with nothing open or available to do. Great place to go for a relaxing retreat.

The shops in Stornoway were super with a good range of things to choose from. We visited the butcher, the charity shops, the deli, the new Co-op supermarket, tweed shops, Tourist Information and Taigh Ceilidh where we received a very warm welcome.

the hotel is fine the staff are good prices a bit high but that is standard for the island. my only problem is a slight health issue and with the very steep stairs and the rooms all upstairs i found this a problem but the hotel is ok.

Don't bother with Stornoway itself ( apart from the castle).
Don't bother with Stornoway itself ( apart from the castle). The shopping is poor and it's very difficult to eat out on a Sunday or Monday. Most restaurants are closed! SO BOOK if you can !( We don't think they want to encourage tourists!) Do go to the Black House village and the standing stones. Really interesting. We were looking for wildlife but it was minimal. We were only there 2 full days but wished we were back on Uist!!

I liked the general location to travel around Lewis from.
I liked the general location to travel around Lewis from. My friend went into Stornaway and enjoyed it I liked the beaches and dog walks around.
Lews garden and grounds for walk woodland center cafe. Tesco click and collect!! West side Bosta, Reef, sea stacks, uig bay, callinish stones ( all 3 sites), Dun Calloway…..
A lovely cosy cottage, warm and welcoming with lovely extras such as fruit, homemade biscuits, milk in the fridge and chocolates by the beds. Angus and his family were perfect hosts as well as their two delightful labradors. Ample supply of logs and coal helped to add warmth inside whilst the wind howled and the rain fell outside! Easy access to Stornoway as well as a great base to explore the island as well as visit my friend’s brother in Stornoway. Thank you for a wonderful week and we will definitely return.
The small room represented a prison. Small window looking onto other walls and an adjacent noisy ventilation duct.
The hygiene of the room left a lot to be desired and this is a quiet time of year so no excuses. A selection of pubic hairs were available from different parts of the bathroom.
Location was excellent but let down by a dirty hotel that was obvious from walking through the dirty front doors.
An utter disappointment and I won’t be back.
A comfortable. clean and beautiful property. It was warm and cosy and had everything we needed. Evelyn went over and beyond to make sure that we had enough information regarding parking, shops, places to visit. The beds were also very comfortable and clean. The property had everything a family would need, including washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, towels ect. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Stornoway.
Very clean, comfortable, very good breakfast, good location( 10 min from Stornoway center).
We were impressed how kind was the host. She gave us a lot of information about the island, she got up early in the morning( 5 a.m) to prepare us breakfast as we had our ferry by that time, she was always smiling and very attentive.
We felt very well treated and we strongly recommend this accommodation.
The breakfast was perfect. Lovely fresh fruit salad and a perfectly poached egg on top of bacon and Stornoway's best black pudding. Scrumptious! The bed was very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. A small fridge was provided in the room as well as a good selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Marina was charming and went over and above to make me feel very welcome.
We loved the home/hotel! All of the elements using Harris Tweed reminded us we were in the heart of the Beautiful Isle of Lewis/Harris. really quiet and comfortable. It felt like all we had to do is check in and everything was taken care of… we felt cared for. Breakfast was elegant and wonderful.
The breakfast was excellent, and the hospitality was warm and generous (lovely homemade scones and jam). It was great to have a comfortable guest lounge with small fridge and a range of books. Everywhere I needed to get to in Stornoway was within 5-10 minutes walk. And the weather was amazing!
Lovely modern decor, great cooking/living area, spotlessly clean and comfy beds. Can’t say enough good things about it. 10 minute walk from town center and views across the water-loved it and such great value. If we’re back in Stornoway we’ll definitely return to Salmon House.
Cosy, clean, and quiet at night the stars are beautiful (sirus star seen shining bright above hut). Bonus of the washing and drying machine in the shed was ideal after a muddy walk. Great location, easy to walk into stornoway via castle grounds
The property was spotlessly, clean, pleasantly furnished, and everything you need is provided. It is very conveniently located for the center of Stornoway and parking is available very nearby in a free lot. The beds were extremely comfortable.
Personal touches such as fresh bananas and milk for breakfast were appreciated as well as secured internet! Owner responded constructively to suggestions.
It is the perfect location in downtown Stornoway w a great coffee house next door.
AMAZING value for money. Thank you Crown Hotel. Residents bar/lounge so comfortable that we even dodged staying out at the pubs and decided to go back after our dinner at Harbour Kitchen and relax in lounge.
Nice touch with the cerals and coffee. Very
Central location and plenty parking. Information was supplied on what we could do in Stornoway on a Sunday which was very appreciated.
Perfectly located to explore Stornoway on foot and the rest of the island with the car. Our host was extremely nice and helped us reunite with a kids toy we had left behind!
Everything was very good. We didn't have breakfast there as we had to leave early for the ferry; but nonetheless, the hotel does organise breakfasts for the ferry goers.
Firstly we didn’t stay at this hotel! You should already know this as we walked out!!! The dates you have at the top of the survey are the wrong dates!!!!!!
