Sporting Lodge Inn Middlesbrough, hotel in Stokesley

Situated on the outskirts of Middlesbrough, Sporting Lodge Inn offers free WiFi and free parking.

Facilities were great our group used the gym, pool and sauna which were clean and well equipped. We had an evening meal and breakfast during our stay which I thought was quick, tasty and value for money. The staff were a great help and very polite engaging in conversation with us during the stay nothing was a problem for them. Dogs were welcomed and treated like mini guests....even being offered wee treats at breakfast!!! Rooms are little dates in decor but super clean and comfortable for the night.

    Nice market town.

Nice market town. The staff at OYO Leven were unsure about parking regulations. The town does have free parking. Best to check with a local shop about parking. Some shops not open, some pubs not open. But can recommend the chapters deli for breakfast and courteous staff. The Green Man pub for a drink.

The village was ideal as a base for exploring the local area. I used a car for convenience but public transport is available to all the local areas. Car parking is free in the high street! The walk along the river Leven is very pleasant and I enjoyed visiting the varied shops in the high street. I had a very enjoyable meal at the Leven hotel and a pub meal at The Mill both very good food reasonably priced.

Stokesley is a lovely village with a charming high street and very friendly locals. The takeaway options leave a lot to be desired with YThai and China Wok being the best options. Unfortunately pubs werent open due to C19 however given the friendly locals would imagine a good atmosphere.

It isn't huge but we spent the morning pottering around poking into different shops. There was also a gallery on at the village hall which was good to look around. Don't go on Mondays though, because half the places are closed, but apprently there is a market on Fridays according to the parking signs, but we weren't there then.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant and bar had an excellent choice of food and drink and a great atmosphere. The en suite room was very good. The hotel has a pharmacy and a coop with a cash machine nearby. We were offered transport to the railway station or the nearest part of the Cleveland Way where we could continue the long distance walk.

Location as brilliant as we were at a wedding at Great Ayton. I cannot speak highly enough. Bedroom and bathroom were immaculate. Beds comfy, windows open and we felt secure. Also, we have a bar snack and the food was lovely. Indian/asian style and a good menu choice. Excellent. The staff were friendly, accommodating and just brilliant. Can I also mention that the free parking is in the main central area outside the Hotel. The cobbled area only has 2 hours attached to it - be careful and if in doubt ask the hotel

Very comfortable and well appointed apartment which provided a relaxing base to tour North Yorkshire. The host has thought of everything you could need to enjoy a stay in the apartment. Stokesley is a very pretty village with plenty of places to eat and the apartment is in the centre of town. The bay window seat gives a great vantage point to view the comings and going of the market town. Parking is right outside the property so handy for loading & unloading the car.

The hotel room was big and spacious. We stayed here while doing the Cleveland way, there is a free pick up from clay bank to the hotel and they also drop you off back at the start of the trail. The staff were really lovely. We had to change the drop off time in the last minute and they were very happy to accommodate for that change too. Breakfast choices were great. We also had dinner there which was very tasty and big portion too. Enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely house for the weekend - bigger than expected with two receptions and decent sized bedrooms. Really great location just of the high street of Stokesley which punches well above it's weight for cafes, pubs and restaurants. Easy drive to the hills.
