There was nothing to fault with this hotel. The grounds were large and well kept, the bedrooms were large and very clean. The bathroom was much bigger than the average hotel bathroom with quality fittings. Even the towels were white and fluffy! The breakfast was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay.

Staff were very willing to help with luggage. Accommodated me in a ground floor room when they realised I had a problem with the stairs.

The room was quiet, but there was a faulty air conditioner / heater unit that automatically started up at 7:00am each morning, making sound like heavy raining on a tin roof. This was a bit disturbing and it woke me up. I did report it to reception, so I can only hope that this was rectified ready for the next guest to use that room.
The room was at the end of a corridor, meaning no footfall of other guests passing by so was very quiet in that respect.

Great location for Derby/Nottingham and surrounding area.
Great location for Derby/Nottingham and surrounding area. It's set back from village so you feel like you are in a rural location, but are close to road into Derby. Shipley Country Park is a short drive away as well so great for a weekend walk or adventure.

If you're in Derbyshire for business or pleasure, this is the perfect spot. The accommodation exceeds even the best 5star hotels I've stayed in, while being very cool and contemporary, very comfortable and cosy. Loads of space in the room, lots of lovely thoughtful wee touches. The breakfast is delicious and you feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the town and cities. Patio area is relaxing to sit in of an evening/early morning with a coffee. Lovely surroundings and lots of options for walks. Local amenities good too. Hosts are lovely.
Stay here, it's the absolute business! I will be back again the next time I'm in the area (in fact may well stay here before that with my partner for a romantic break).
