I wish I could transport the establishment and staff downunder. Old pub but everything works. Steve and Jackie the owners are tops. Beds great .Food quality is comparable to a premium restaurant worldwide. In between the Lakes and the Dale's is a great spot to stay Steve

Everything, from seeing the location that is so peaceful & quiet, to opening the door of the pod & the bathroom facilities, was just perfect for our visit. 2 black lambs & the 2 lovely horses right outside our pod were just idyllic. To be greeted by 2 scones with butter & jam to have with a much needed coffee, we sat outside enjoyed the scones & the scenery. We loved our short stay, we will definitely be back. The property was maintained and decorated beautifully, in keeping with the age of the building. It has a lovely atmosphere which gives a relaxing feeling and is a stepback into the world and time in which it was created. Amy is a wonderful host and ensures you a tremendous welcome, doing all she can to make you comfortable. Gardens are waking up to spring and will be in full bloom soon. A fabulous location for enjoying the Westmorland countryside and superb landscapes for walking, painting, etc. Will be glad to return.
