Love this wee place, lady who runs it is so nice and welcoming. So much care and effort has gone into restoring the building and the decoration.

    150 meters from main road.

150 meters from main road. We arrived at the above property and was given the key for The Round Room at the property which was up a very narrow circular staircase to a very small room. This room did not have a window only a small velex window in the ceiling. We are nearly 70 years old and feared for our safety in the event of a fire in the stairwell as this was the only way out. We contacted the owner and told her of our concerns, she offered us another even smaller room with the same conditions or a bigger room that we would have to wait to be made ready & would have to pay extra for!!! We felt this to be unacceptable and due to all of the above reasons especially our safety concerns we left. This has ruined are few days away that we were looking forward to and feel that a refund should be due to us. Please can you arrange this for us. Thank you

The accommodation and location are ideal for exploring Northumberland. Rooms are large, the bed was very comfortable and overall I was so impressed. There is a lovely sunny central courtyard area with a central flower and plant bed around which are tables and chairs so guest's can relax and enjoy this beautiful outdoor space.

An enchanting set of buildings and rooms.

An enchanting set of buildings and rooms. Looks historic but really isn't. Great social breakfasts around three large farmhouse dining tables. Eat nearby at the Cook and Barker - details in the room packs - fantastic food but go early as they tend to close early.

Shilbottle has lots of amenities including a friendly pub, lovely cafe and a restaurant and a takeaway. There may have been more places that we missed. A car is not necessary as the bus comes through that passes the station. We didn't have time to do walks, but it looks like it is easy to reach the coast path down to Alnmouth or Amble.

Great coastle walks and pretty villages.

Great coastle walks and pretty villages. Alnwick was beautiful with independent shops and a huge second hand book shop taking up all the old railway station. The weather helps too, we were lucky with three decent days. We were closer to Alnwick which is where wanted to be, we only drove through Shilbottle. It looked very nice.

We went to Alnwick Lodge for a relaxing few days away, which is exactly what we got. We took our dog and we drove a short while to a lovely place called Simonside where there was beautiful scenery and a great walk for the dog. The staff at Alnwick Lodge were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful too. We loved our stay and would defiantly go back.
