The Masons Arms, hotel in Seaton

The Mason Arms is located on Devon’s Jurassic Coast, just a 10-minute walk from Branscombe Beach.

We found everything about the Masons Arms to be exceptional. The property is well maintained and is located on a quiet street in a small village, which the setting allowed us to relax and enjoy the overall experience. The room was very well appointed, with a very comfortable bed and large en-suite. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was both very delightful.

The Mariners Hotel, hotel in Seaton

Featuring sea views, The Mariners Hotel is nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis. Dating back to the 17th century, this former coaching inn has a large private garden and rooms with free WiFi access.

Our sea view room lived up to its label: the views over the town and coast were stunning. The hotel is old and characterful with wonky floors, beams and low ceilings: we like that. Short walk downhill to the harbour and free car parking. Good value for the price.

We were there a bit early in the season so some of the eating places were not open but we ate twice at the monsoon Indian which was a `byo alcohol, the food was nice. We also ate in Sidmouth. Very easy to get around and buses very regular to Beer and Sidmouth and Exeter.

    Stunning scenery, beautiful location.

Stunning scenery, beautiful location. Town just had no restaurants open in the week in the evening, all only serve Breakfast & lunch & then close or stop serving food. A couple small takeaways for evening week night food is all that is available.

Seaton is a very quiet unspoilt place that is lovely for walks along the beach, the cliff park or along the wetlands. It is very much for the local population and not that much orientated towards visitors. The tram ride is well worth a visit. If you want noise and discos don't go.

Easy to get around Seaton on foot.

Easy to get around Seaton on foot. Ragini restaurant was very good. Hideaway on seafront good for a cream tea. Yeungs Chinese takeaway excellent. When eating need to ensure places are open when out of season. Large Tesco/Aldi etc in centre great if you are self-catering. Tramway a good experience. Donkey Sanctuary a surprisingly good visit too and "free" not many of those around. A very relaxing & charming location.

Seaton Tramway was very enjoyable and a day rover certainly worth the money if you want to do more than one trip. Seaton Wetlands was a wonderful place for birds watching and wildlife although you are not allowed to take your dog. The island hide particulary had plenty of birds while I was there.

A quiet safe place for a short stay. Not much night life or finer dining restaurants. There is one good restaurant - but you may need to book - Le Piscani Regular bus services to Sidmouth, Lyme Regis etc

Perfect location, close to the beach and the lovely little town. Although situated on a main road close to a junction we were not disturbed at all by traffic noise. The cottage is very tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings and was spotlessly clean with quality bedding and towels and a very well equipped kitchen. Our hosts were very accessible and extremely helpful. We have already recommended Nutshell Cottage to friends who are hoping to travel to Seaton in the near future.

Very comfortable and clean apartment. Stylish, spacious. Very affective double glazing. Lovely fluffy towels and fresh crisp bed linen. Nice furniture; big beds. Delicious food from the Monsoon Indian restaurant just round the corner, ordered online and delivered to our door. Good access to Lyme Regis and other attractions. Seaton sea front is very clean and the beach is wide and vast. Easy coastal walk to Beer.

Nice quiet park, and just a mile from Seaton, no shops near but there was a garage next door with groceries, which was useful until you could get to the shops! In the chalet, the bed and sofas were extremely comfortable, and the decor was charming. We had unexpectedly cold weather, but there were radiators in the bedrooms, and a portable heater for the lounge.

The location is good, beautiful countryside, short drive to Lyme Regis or Seaton beach, nice clifftop walks, wetlands and wildlife close by. The cottage was small, terraced, with convenient off-road parking and could have been very nice but let down by some key items.

Room was warm and clean if a tiny bit dated but that was to be expected for the age of the hotel in such a central location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious.
