Great location near the entry to the Cathedral. The building exterior was attractive Tudor style. Beautiful and pleasant antique furniture and decor in the entry, dining room, and bar areas. We had good meals for dinner.

A charming, characterful town, full of interesting shops, plenty of restaurants to choose from, and pubs galore! Of course the jewel in the crown is the cathedral, which is most impressive. Well worth a visit, but be prepared for the constant traffic jam up Holywell Hill.

St. Albans is a large town/ small city, with a good number of interesting old buildings, including a medieval bell tower, and several museums, including the excellent museum of Roman artefacts on the far side of the large park which drops down from the cathedral. The cathedral is a must if you are into old buildings, with its Norman tower made from Roman bricks among many other features. I was also made very welcome when I joined them for worship. The town has very good pubs, cafes and restaurants, and an extensive street market on certain days. The town itself probably merits a leisurely weekend stay if you enjoy lingering in the cafes, but the Thameslink trains make a day in London very easy, and, if you like old planes, a visit to the De Havilland museum ( no. 84 bus from the town centre ) is well worth it ( rather long walk up the drive from the bus stop, but there is parking at the museum if you take your car. )

St Albans is a very friendly town with people opening doors and being kind and considerate.
We ate in whetherspoons in their Tudor barns and they also had an outdoor area to eat and drink if no rain! The pricing of everything we ate and drank was of good value and was very clean.
There was lots of places we wanted to visit but most of our holiday it rained! But we did visit the shops which are all different and have different price ranges and styles.
Good breakfast, attentive friendly staff. I had low expectation of the hotel as the price was much lower than local hotels nearby. The room, location, parking included and overall service exceeded my expectations and represented excellent value for money for a one night stopover it suited my needs. If you are seeking high quality modern rooms then this is not for you, for the price this hotel represents excellent value for money and a good option very close to St Albans city centre (walking distance).
Lovely old building(s) with style of decor in keeping. Room was comfortable, and spotless (as were all the other areas in the hotel). Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, quick service and tasty produce. Great location - short walk to shops/cafes/restaurants, slightly further to the Cathedral and Roman Museum. Quite close to train station (but we couldn't hear any trains at all), so convenient for a day trip to London. Also, quiet at night.
Beautiful property, clean, well presented and welcoming. Located in the lovely town of Saint Albans which is only a few miles down the road from the Harry Potter Studios Tour. Perfect place for anyone who is visiting London/surround area. Viv was an amazing host, and we hope to stay there again when my wife and I visit the HP Studios in the future.
Young lady on reception helped me out with car park issue. All staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is in a good location for St Albans city centre. Obviously has a lot of character with all the wood paneling etc. Breakfast was of good quality. Everything in room was very clean.
Very nice, super clean and spacious apartment. Well equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. Good for individuals, great for families. Good connection by bus to city centre. I can recommend it to everyone for a pleasant and peaceful stay in St Albans.
The breakfast was delicious. The grounds are also stunning with a beautiful view from the terrace. The spa is also stunning - spacious, clean, luxurious and pretty quiet in the evenings. This is the second time we've stayed at the hotel and would return indeed.
Beautiful gardens- close to the cathedral and across from beautiful walks in Verulamium Park. The staff were extremely friendly and so helpful. Close to the city centre. Lovely ambiance and room was large and comfortable.Breakfast was wonderful.
This hotel was located in a great area, close to lots of shops such as New Look, JD, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Boots. The rooms were good sizes and the beds were very comfortable! Room included breakfast which was amazing and had plenty options.
The room was a great size, plenty for myself and my partner. The location is ideal if you want to walk into the city centre and only a short walk from the train station. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but plenty of options close by.
Hotel & Spa beautiful, greeted at both receptions with friendly smiles and happy to help.
Breakfast had so much selection and tasty.
The bar area was also warm and cosy, we had lunch before the spa and drinks in there after dinner.
