The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast, hotel in Ruthin

Set in Ruthin and only 31 km from Bodelwyddan Castle, The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Everything about our stay at The Old Rectory was brilliant. Our room was perfect, clean, tidy, everything we needed for an overnight stay, celebrating my partners birthday. The old house in general was beautiful, as were the grounds and gardens, I was very impressed. An unforeseen added bonus was the stream rushing by the property, very relaxing to hear the water. Our hostess, Catherine was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Cooked a lovely breakfast for us both on Sunday morning. Thank you for our stay. Graham & Clare.

The venue was perfect for the family wedding.

The venue was perfect for the family wedding. Staff were very helpful. Rooms are very clean and all facilities provided. The town of Ruthin is a lovely little town and easy to find everything you need. A nice Weatherspoons and a few restaurants in town and a lovely family run coffee shop. Highly recommended to anyone thinking of hosting a family event.

Loved Ruthin Castle , great if you have a dog .

Loved Ruthin Castle , great if you have a dog . Tons of character in the building , staff were excellent as was the food . It’s an old building and could do with updating - but don’t let that put you off as it really is beautiful , yes could do with an update but I really lived it as it was and will definitely be going back . Grounds were lovely with lots of peacocks roaming .

a very pretty town with variety of small quaint shops but nothing worth stopping for a couple of hours. the indoor market on a Thursday is full of small local craft stalls and definitely worth a visit.

Ruthin is a very scenic and historic town.

Ruthin is a very scenic and historic town. But despite going there on a Saturday afternoon it was quite quiet and there were only a few stalls at the indoor market. Other shops had closed early. I'd heard that the cafe at the arts centre was an independent one, but when we went it was actually a Costa, which was a little disappointing. Went to church on Sunday morning at St Peter's and received a very warm welcome from Rev Luke and other congregants. Had takeaway from the Himalaya Indian (or perhaps Bangladeshi) restaurant, which was the best I'd ever tasted; full of rich complex flavours. I'd read reviews that the restaurant often gave additional dishes for free. This certainly proved to be the case. I was on my own so ordered a main dish (vegetable lemon chilli garlic masala to be precise!) and a rice but also got a lovely fluffy naan, three poppadom with salad and pickles, a dhal and three onion bhaji! All for free!

no lift, so be prepared for lots of steps to bedroom. walk to dining area long. left in the Morning with nobody on reception. seems to be a teenager hangout. menu limited , food ok, but not value for money, service charge added to bill. can't add anything to the room. meal service starts at 6pm unless you appear to be a special guest and can eat earlier. barman great but limited availability of drinks. Lots seems to be an extra cost. Missed booking breakfast, based on evening meal glad didn't pay additional £18 each for tea and toast. looked forward to this birthday treat, but didn't for the price achieve expectations

Excellent location in Ruthin and especially for the castle. We really appreciated how well stocked the cottage was, with a good selection of drinks, toiletries etc. Courtyard space is lovely and parking permit system works really well.
