Really lovely little place .
Greeted by a pleasant man and lady at reception , check in was smooth We stayed here for one night because we had a party close by , we were given cab numbers and told about where we could get food and drink , there is a Indian on site which looks impressive but we unfortunately didn’t get the chance to try it
. All staff and residents on site were very friendly . We had a drink in the boathouse which is good value for money staff were attentive and welcoming . We stayed in a delux double room that was clean comfortable , Modern and well equipped.
The areas around the marina are well kept , it’s a really peaceful tranquil setting
We attended the restaurant on our departure date and was really looking forward to a breakfast which again looks good value for money , but we were told that no food was being sold and the coffee machine wasn’t working. This was really disappointing as this would have been the end to a perfect stay .
We will return and stay for 2 nights next time and try the Indian and hopefully have no future issues

Such a funky hotel. Loved the room, very quirky.
Staff were excellent.. Manager was exceptional.
There were a few hen parties, a lot of noise until 1200, but apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

The information said there was a cafe/bar open until 9pm that served snacks and hot drinks. There was only an Indian Restaurant. No options for breakfast except to drive into the village. There didn’t look to be much parking in the village.
The room was dusty, with cobwebs, the shower was mouldy in the cubicle & especially on the ceiling, the carpet was not clean.

Its a bit out of the way, alongside a barge marina. I thought it would be quiet. Alas, a group had booked and had been placed in neighboring rooms to mine. Even though they were not ridiculously noisy both at 2300 and 0300 (going to a nightclub?) the soundproofing in the hotel is inadequate.
The Indian Restaurant adjacent served good food, but the service was awful. They were massively under-staffed for a Saturday evening and it spoiled it for me.
I might give it another go but not on a Friday or Saurday.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Safe parking. a real bonus.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Safe parking. a real bonus. Two restaurants close by. The Boathouse had evening meals but we only used the breakfast option and we enjoyed our full English. The Indian restaurant next door to hotel was superb. We ate there both nights.
There is marina and a towpath but weather was to wet to enjoy it!
Reasonably close to North London where we were visiting family. We Will use again if coming to North London as the parking locally is a nightmare and so nice to come back to somewhere serene!

The room I had booked had faeces on the bathroom floor and filthy towels around the toilet basin, despite a sticker on the room door proudly announcing that it had been 'cleaned and sanitized', This was a dreadful start to my visit. Fortunately, the receptionist was able to allocate me to a lodge instead, and my stay picked up from there.

The site is in a very picturesque area.
The site is in a very picturesque area. It is quiet apart from the trains every now and again. You can walk along the river side and to great local pubs. The Roydon Marina Village has a wide selection of accommodation. The lodges with hot tubs are particularly nice. The Italian restaurant on site is excellent, Marco's.

The lodge was lovely and spotless.
The lodge was lovely and spotless. Not being able to get in until 4 pm (the park’s usual time) is a bit of a drag and leaves less time to unpack and explore during the day, but not the end of the world. The hot tub was a nice addition, especially after the kids were packed off to bed. The park is well laid out and a relaxing place to spend a few days and it felt like we were miles from anywhere, yet less than an hour from central London, where we live. The staff we polite, friendly and responsive to any queries we had. One of the dining chairs’ legs were loose and in danger of collapsing, and after raising it with reception, a fitter came within 20 minutes and fixed the problem. Roydon is a bit of a one horse village, but easily accessible if you need to stock up on groceries in the little supermarket. It also boasts a couple of pub restaurants, the one we visited a couple of times was ‘The White Hart’, because the food and service was exceptional. We also enjoyed a lovely meal in the converted railway station called ‘Just At The Station’, where we enjoyed a lovely pasta meal.
We Didn’t know what to expect with it rated as a 2.5 star but we were really surprised at how nice it was, the hotel is situated at a lodge park which really is lovely, right on the marina, the room was lovely and clean all sanitised before we arrived, it was basic, but had everything we needed and well worth the money.
Would stop again x there is a also a lovely Italian on site where we ate the staff were really helpful with my dietary requirements will defo visit again x
The room was a good size and as advertised we knew there was not a window, which was not a problem to us. It had twin beds, a large wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and good sized en-suite. The room was spotlessly clean. There were biscuits, tea, coffee, milk and a kettle. We had breakfast in the Marina Cafe a short walk from the hotel, which was also excellent.
The location is wonderful, great connection to London from Roydon station which is a 5 min walk from the hotel.
We asked for our car to stay there another day fter checking out as we were going to London by train and it was no problem.
Very handy that there is a ‘back door’ to the room that leads outside to the parking lot. This makes unloading a lot easier.
Loved the location. Arrived late evening and had fabulous meal in Marco’s (Italian) right next door. Really friendly staff both in hotel and restaurant. Had breakfast in waterfront cafe - again lovely location and staff
As delightful as ever: room and hotel surrounds were very pleasant and restful. I was kindly granted an extra hour to check out so I could complete a run on the Stort River.
The Roydon staff send an email prior to the team's arrival for some info in advance. This cuts out any waste of time on arrival. No complaints from our guy's.
