the hotel is dated / tatty and in need of refurbishing

the hotel is dated / tatty and in need of refurbishing i was in a room where a dog was staying and continuously barking as owners had left it alone Apparently this is allowed which i think is unacceptable and it ruined my stay

    Such a pretty village!

Such a pretty village! Lots of hills, so it's maybe not so great for less mobile people, but I love the many paths and byways, and the fact that you can get right up onto Holcombe Moor in less than an hour from the E.L.R. station. Lots of great places to eat and drink, and some great independent shops. Nuttall Park offers a beautiful green space with a very pretty riverside path. The steam railway is the icing on the cake. All this, just a few miles north of Manchester, easily accessible by the X41 bus ☺️

The hotel was appalling , after staying there in the past and no issues, I was shocked to see how bad it was, since it had been taken over by Lavender Hotel. the room I booked was a family room, I thought I had upgraded by booking a bigger room, I was told the room doesn’t get cleaned for 5 days, after 7 and nobody coming in, I asked for it to be cleaned and fresh towels which it eventually was. It was below freezing outside and the radiators in the hallway in our corridor were never on and also in the room, the main area in the room the only thing for heat was a small plug in radiator. The only good thing we’re the staff, who were all very accommodating and tried very hard, knowing that we were staying for two weeks, they tried very hard to accommodate us. However, when I initially told them the heating wasn’t working, you could see by there faces that they knew. However, they said they would report it to maintenance. Even the hot water tap was broken and the hot water just trickled out in the sink, The shower and the staff were the only good things this staff had.

    Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The dining room was large and seemed a bit soulless, although we ate late and were the only ones there. Room spacious and well-equipped. Overall, a very relaxing stay.

The apartment was really refreshing to see, the room we had was a dark moody colour theme which is different to the apartments we usually go to. The bed was so comfortable and hydrotherapy session was what really bagged the deal for me. The fact that it’s included in the price is amazing. It’s also by a farm by not worries it doesn’t smell or anything in fact it was really peaceful. It was away from all the hustle and bustle of a town. We had an issue that needed sorting and the owner was very helpful and understanding. Rochdale is just a 15 minute drive from the place so great for if u want to grab a bite. One thing I noticed was that outside you would have service but once we went into our room we had no service but we did have really good WiFi, but I honestly think that it’s a great thing if you’re going as couple, that way you actually get to spend time with each other without being bothered by phone calls. Will definitely be back here again next year.

The apartment had everything we needed, and was finished to an incredibly high standard. Lovely views of the surrounding area, and easily accessed despite the rural location. Exceptionally clean and beautifully presented. A much welcome addition to the Ramsbottom area where local luxury hotels are hard to find.
