Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around.
Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around. There are lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. I had lunch at the Railbridge Bistro and a lovely dinner at the Thirty Knots restaurant. There are nice little shops to browse in. Queensferry is very near Edinburgh and there is an excellent train service into the city from Dalmeny Station.

Great place to base yourself for trips to Edinburgh or Livingston. Our son loved watching the trains cross the forth rail bridge, the aquarium and the ice cream at the little parlour. Breakfast at down the hatch was also delicious.

On this occasion, I did not stay long but it is a very interesting place with easy access to all parts of Scotland thanks to the Forth Bridges. There are small shops as well as supermarkets and lots of lovely places to eat, most with spectacular views while you eat. I think the best thing is just wandering around on foot, without needing a car, and exploring.

We stayed at Orocco Pier in the middle of the High Street which has fantastic views of the Three Bridges over the Forth River.
Enjoyed a great meal at Scott’s at Port Edgar Marina. Free parking for customers.
Lovely cafes and coffee shops available.
Parking can be difficult but we’ve managed each time we’ve visited.

The Dakota Edinburgh is very conveniently located near the international airport. The hotel/airport shuttle was always available. If you have an event at the Dundas Castle, this is the place to stay. It is a short mile from the hotel. Queensferry to Edinburgh is about a 1/2 hour drive.
It was great. The owner was very kind and solved all the problems we had. I couldn't speak much English, but she explained everything to me carefully. And when you go out into the hallway you can hear the parrots whistling. It's very pleasant. The bus stop to Edinburgh was just a 3-minute walk away, so the location was great. It's not a hotel, so it's a bit inconvenient, but the price is reasonable and the owner is a great person, so I'm very satisfied. Thank you very much.
Location was great - S. Queensferry wonderful in and of itself; perfect base for exploring Edinburgh (bus stop just a few steps away). The loft was perfect for our needs; nice kitchen, very comfy queen-size (or maybe king-size?) bed, well-equipped kitchen. Loved the video provided prior as a "user's manual". Every lodging has different systems (access, heat, etc); really appreciated not having to figure out how things work in the Loft.
We started and ended our Scotland trip at this beautiful modern hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the convenient location with nearby bus and train stations.
We were able to use this hotel as a base as we traveled into Edinburgh. The value and convenience of this hotel outside the city was exceptional.
The staff was attentive and efficient and the availability of the shuttle to the airport made this place a winner.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Dakota Edinburgh and would happily book again. We flew into Edinburgh from Italy and arrived at the airport via taxi. The staff greeted us immediately and checked us in quickly. Our room was very stylish and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We opted to have dinner in the hotel restaurant and - WOW - the food was amazing! Great stay from start to finish.
This was the last stop on our Scotland/England trip. The host that checked us in was beyond friendly and helpful! We had a fantastic dinner and we dined in the cafe while looking at the MAGNIFICIENT view. I truly went with this booking JUST for that view. But everything was fabulous! The town of Queensferry is so cute! We will definitely plan a trip back and will absolutely stay in the Orocco Pier!
The staff were so helpful, especially since I arrived on the Sunday before the Queen's funeral. Everyone really bent over backward to make my stay more convenient and comfortable, including making a call to book dinner and leaving a breakfast snack out since I left before 8am. I would stay here again when visiting South Queensferry or when going to or from the Edinburgh airport.
Lovely hotel right on the pier area of south Queensferry, bit of a hidden gem. Paid extra for the upgraded room and had a stunning sea view of the three bridges which also came with a balcony. Room was clean and modern and had a red theme. Lobby and corridors where also nicely decorated. Jointed restaurant and bar area below the hotel was nice and busy. Great for a wee getaway.
The location was central to Edinburgh, Stirling, and the roads that head to the Highlands. The house was extremely well kept, beautiful, impeccably clean, and had all the modern amenities. The instruction binder on-site was thorough and left no questions unanswered.
Beautiful decor throughout hotel. Rooms were very clean, well-designed and stylish. Free airport shuttle is a big plus. Good location if you don't want to stay in Edinburgh proper but also within walking distance to the charming waterfront town of South Queensferry.
Perfect in every way ! Queensferry is just amazingly beautiful and charming.
Incredible breakfast, welcoming and lovely host.
Extremely comfortable and just 30mn from Edinburgh.
Would recommand blindfolded !
See above. Carole made us more than welcome and brought extra logs for the fire. South Queensferry is a perfect spot, easy walkable access to Dalmeny Station for a 20 minute trip to Edinburgh.
Location exceptional. House has character. Hosts extremely friendly and helpful. Abercorn estate and surroundings lovely. Good base for seeing Scotland especially Edinburgh.
Location great very near to S Queensferry shops and river with views of bridges from outside the hotel.
Nice beer garden outside. Historic building. Free parking.
The location was great in the centre of Queensferry. The hotel owner was very welcoming and gave us a large room just about with a view of the Forth rail bridge.
