Probus itself is a small village, but it does have shops and the pub/restaurant is very good for evening meals. It has two advantages in that it has been bypassed by the main road which makes it quiet with only local traffic passing through and it is in central Cornwall. As a result it is only fifteen or so miles from both the North and South coasts.

The cotage was situated around the corner from our relatives so it was wonderful for us. There's a chippy, plus posh eats, Chinese shop plus a farm shop and Indian restaurant, along with a little market shop. What more could you want?

I can’t recommend Grace cottage highly enough, although I would really want to keep it as a secret and not make it too much popular among Cornwall’s travelers :-) What makes the stay here so special is not only the Cottage itself but also the location overlooking St Probus Church and the Nick, who’s the nicest and most thoughtful host. I will definitely be back and make sure to spend at least 3 nights here, as we enjoyed so much the sense of peace and joy of this house. it is truly a gem.

Nigel was a very welcoming and gracious host, his cooked breakfast is amazing! Probus is in a central location in Cornwall so if you have a car you can easily go to St.Austell, Newquay and all the wonderful small towns around (20-30 minutes drive max). I would very much recommend, we will stay here again whenever we're back in Cornwall!
