Small village with few shops, streamer made access to other areas on lake easy. Walks well detailed and regular public transport to other parts of the Lake District. We parked the car when we arrived and never touched it till we left.

It was central. Managed to park ok. Loved the decor.
It was central. Managed to park ok. Loved the decor. Inside you had to wait to be seated but there was cosy alcove seating and you had priority over non residents. As well as the out door seating area at the front there was also a covered out door seating area at the back.
Food was great! Only problem was the size! Very generous.

Close to Ullswater, walks and boat trips just a walk away. The hotel was lovely and clean, staff were more than helpful -including the extra sausage for my dog at breakfast and help when I was arriving in an unfamiliar area much later than I planned. Excellent, would highly recommend.

Parking was easy, nice location, friendly and clean with a good breakfast. Great spot if you’re passing through the Lake District as it’s not too far off the motorway. Evening meal in the pub was fine, and there’s a decent sized garden with lots of benches and sun umbrellas. Pooley Bridge has a good sized beach area along the waterside, and you can take a leisurely boat ride around Ullswater, which has some fab scenery.
Pooley Bridge is well located for stopover heading north. Our classic double room was quiet and more comfortable than more expensive cosy twin room we had at Lister Arms (also Thwaites). The dinner and breakfast options and standard were very good as was the service. Would definitely stay again (out of season).
Beautiful place to stay, very friendly owner/staff, breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, nice and peaceful but easy to get to pooley bridge, full kitchen for guest to use which was handy, would definitely recommend/stay there again
Room fabulous even though a little small. Taster menu delicious as was breakfast. Never been to Pooley Bridge before but surprised by how picturesque it was.
