The staff is just fabulous, the village itself is beautiful and everyone I met in the pub and in
The village itself was very friendly. I had rented a Ebike and found that the drivers in the area were very respectful of cyclists. I saw a lot of waterfalls and met a lot of wonderful people. It was better than I could have hoped.

Penmachno is a tiny village set in a beautiful glaciated valley. Full of the historic legacy of the slate industry and modern sheep farming.
We enjoyed walking the Slate Trail from Penmachno to Betws-y-Coed - a 20km whole day trip for able hikers. We parked in the church car park (giving a donation), morning coffee at Conwy Falls, lunch in Betws-y-Coed. Celebratory beers from Londis on our return.

Penmachno itself is a quiet village set in a valley at the base of several mountains. There's not much to do in Penmachno itself but it is well located for getting to lots of tourist places and attractions, particularly the Zip Wire forest sites, underground adventures and waterfalls. There's also the superb Conwy Cafe at the junction with the A5 and the road to Penmachno.
