Warm welcome from the staff, comfy bed, and a very good breakfast. The barman was very charming even though we probably kept him up! Close to the Gower, fabulous area, though, see comments below

It was a small village with all necessary amenities, close to all of the Gower peninsula sights and beaches - lots of surfing opportunities - but also close to Brecon Beacons, Llanelli wetland centre for birdlovers .
If you dont like narrow roads avoid the Gower interior but other than that it was an ideal base - we stayed 5 nights

The whole experience was first class, a credit to Alex and the team.
Liked · More than lived up to its 9.5 rating, from the special Valentine’s Day menu which was stunning, the beautifully appointed balcony bedroom and comfy king size bed, hot water for bath and shower, bottled water and nespresso machine, to the exceptional breakfast ( we had the Estuary stack, Sourgh dough bread, smashed avocado, poached eggs, goats cheese, streaky bacon and chilli relish) at a value for money supplement of just £5, everything made for a most memorable stay and we will certainly be returning. The ambience in the bar is great and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly.
Only sorry We didn’t have time to try the gelato in GG’s as it looked amazing, next time.

Enjoyed our stay tremendously only downside which is a relatively small one was the food. Tapas is fine for a snack or small meal but not an evening out type offering.
It must be said though food was being served all evening and bar was full so they are doing something right for the Tapas lovers.

Penclawdd is a great location to explore the Gower.
Penclawdd is a great location to explore the Gower. It's a quirky place with a few pubs and cafes to eat and drink plus a very popular fish and chip shop. We liked the walks along the estuary and the views out to sea. It was great to watch the tides filling up the rivulets and, even though it rained most days during our stay, we managed to dodge the showers and get out and about. There's a nice walk along the old railway line which has the estuary to one side. The beaches and other attractions such as churches and castles aren't too far away and there seems to be plenty of parking on the estuary car park. A road runs through Penclawdd but it isn't noisy and didn't bother us on our stay. The Mumbles, the beaches and castles are all within easy reach. If you like bird watching it's perfect I would say, plus there are sheep and horses on the marshes too. The lanes are quite small at times so that's something to think about when planning your trip around the area if you have a bigger vehicle.

Very small town, but good for visiting the Gower.
Very small town, but good for visiting the Gower. The roads are very loud overnight with young people gathering in car parks which isn’t ideal. The local fish and chip shop is good, but not a lot of other places to eat!
Perfect location for exploring the Gower Peninsular .
My husband and I enjoyed coming home to the cosy cottage each evening to the view, peace and beauty of the salt marches.
We were lucky to have beautiful weather during are stay in Penclawdd
the garden gets the early morning sunshine so that is where we had our breakfast.
The cottage is bright and clean and very well maintained.
We opted for the continental breakfast, but they do serve a full English breakfast in the bar/dining area too. The hotel is decorated to a high level with many special little touches everywhere. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The room itself is comfortable, yet stylish and looks out over the estuary. I highly recommend staying here.
The Estuary Bar is located on the main coast road through Penclawdd, it has been recently refurbished. The rooms and public areas are clean, bright and modern. there is plenty of free car parking adjacent to the bar. the continental breakfast is served in your room and is very good. all the staff we met were warm and friendly.
Excellent little hotel with rooms overlooking the estuary. Very comfortable bed. We very much enjoyed the tapas in the evening and also Sunday lunch. Plenty of gluten free options and staff were very knowledge about and willing to adapt dishes to be suitable for a gf diet. All in all definitely 10/10.
The breakfast was excellent. There was lots of free parking right next door (although not private to the hotel), the location was really convenient for our trip and the staff were all really friendly. Service during dinner was great. The room was nice enough, comfy bed and decent shower.
Beautiful location, amazing food. We had our evening meal and breakfast. Both were of a very high standard.
Staff were exceptional too. Lovely complimentary tea and Welsh cakes upon arrival.
Definitely recommend this amazing hotel. We will be back for a longer stay.
Unique location and wonderful staff make this hotel really amazing. Breakfast is good as well, though I would prefer a buffet, rather than choosing from the a la carte menu.
