The setting was idyllic, what a beautiful, peaceful place with the hotel at the heart of it. Staff were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed., with breakfast rooms and comfy lounges to sit and enjoy a drink. The room was fine for a single traveller with my dog, small but enough space for everything I needed, with a great shower over the bath in the en suite bathroom. A lovely view from my bedroom window, the hotel is kept spotlessly clean, and fresh tea, milk, coffee sachets were re-filled daily in my room, along with fresh towels. A superb complimentary continental breakfast topped off a lovely stay. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of walks at every level. Good bar food at reasonable prices too (great handmade burger!)

The quality of the cooked breakfast was excellent, but I found it very strange that none of the usual breakfast items were available e.g. cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast, preserves etc.
