While Oldham town centre is much like many others you'd visit, the scenery in the nearby pennines is something else entirely. Walking, cycling and driving are all very enjoyable and there are loads of different routes to take. Snake's pass is a local favourite for motorcyclists. There are loads of beauty spots, just pick a route across from Oldham to Yorkshire and plan to stop for a picnic. One thing you should try in Oldham is a curry or kebab. Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi populations have been long established in the area and the food is affordable and fabulous even from the most basic of take-aways. After moving away from Oldham, I've found the standard of this cuisine isn't matched in many other places.

The room is not children friendly.

The room is not children friendly. It is untidy and the bin is rusty and filled with rotten dirt. The walls have mould and its peeling and the bed sheets are so dirty. The TV remote had no batteries and I couldn't find a way to turn on the heater for my children. When I chatted the host on how to do this, he responded okay. The host is also very rude and a liar. The room I was offered to stay with my kids and wife is room 1 but I rejected it and I had to get a hotel on another platform as booking.com could not provide one. It was a terrible experience for me and my family

I will never recommend the Lime House.

I will never recommend the Lime House. It was disgusting, smelling of cigarettes and all sorts. Alex said he was going to refund the money as we couldn't stay because at the place, still today not received that money. They rang me and asked me to remove the review so that they refund the money and I did remove it, but it turned out that they were liars, after removing the review ,they never answered my phone. I'm disgusted with the Lime House with it's owners. Alex is a liar and thief. I believed him when he asked me to remove the review. Oldham it's self is not too bad if it didn't have people like Alexander.

I liked everything about The Grains Bar Hotel. From the greeting I received when i arrived to the send-off, i received when i was leaving. Everything was perfect. Everyone was so friendly and spent time chatting with me. The evening meal and breakfast were really good, with large portions, too. My room was spacious, clean, well presented and had everything that i needed. Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa and her team. I will return sometime, and i highly recommend others to visit too.

Loved the whole cottage! Very clean and we loved the hot tub. May have been the best hot tub we have been in. Only down fall is that we couldn't get to the front of the cottage to take photos of the place. The bed was so so comfy. A nice little welcome when we arrived with prosecco and biscuits! Sadly no pen to write a lovely review in the guest book about our stay! A 5 minute walk to the bus stop which took us directly to Manchester and other places.

Easy to find location and centrally located to Oldham city center (15 minute walk to downtown Oldham). Host greeted me warmly and showed me around the home, then after assuring I was comfortable and settled in, she politely vanished to allow me privacy. The room is huge and comfortable, with a comfy chair and enough room to really feel at home.

We were late and the guy helped us out and was very friendly. On Sunday there is free parking. The bed was okay. We got 2 single rooms. I think this is about all the positive things I can say. There was no real check-out time, but I was happy I was there for the Manchester marathon and had to leave at 7am.
