I have previously stayed at this hotel and will quite happily stay again. The actual location of the hotel is very good, right next to Nottingham Castle and is very easy to get to. The room was reasonably standard, with the main exception being there is no air conditioning. This could be an issue if staying peak summer and the temperature is high, but for when I normally visit late summer / autumn like is wasn't a problem. Room was quite large, with sufficient room for the inclusion of a sofa which was nice to use to view the TV when in the room. Bathroom was clean and tidy, actually had a proper bath installed which was a nice bonus, but obviously there was also shower fitted. If anything the bathroom was a little small, probably due to the inclusion of the bath but was perfectly acceptable for my needs. Breakfast was as expected. Usual selection of different types of breakfast food, from cereals through to full English. Restaurant area was okay, but if really busy it could seem a little crowded. No problem staying here again.

Famous for its association with Robin Hood, Nottingham is in the very heart of England. The outlaw’s legend lives on, with many city streets and buildings named after him and his Merry Men. A Robin Hood statue sits at the foot of Nottingham Castle, on a small hill with historic pubs built into it. Also cut into the rock are visitable caves extending under the city.
The Old Market Square is the largest in the UK and becomes a city beach in the summer, with rides and a small pool. Permanent fixtures are the impressive Council House with its Exchange Arcade shops, and the several Nottingham hotels with parking in the surrounding area.
During the 19th century, Nottingham was an important lace-making centre and many Victorian warehouses and buildings remain in the Lace Market area. Neighbouring Hockley is home to the National Ice Centre and independent shops, while the biggest shopping centres are Broadmarsh and the Victoria Centre.
In the western suburbs, by Nottingham University, Wollaton Park surrounds an Elizabethan stately home, while east of Trent Bridge cricket ground is the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont. Sherwood Forest, Robin’s stomping ground, is near Mansfield, while East Midlands Airport is south-west of Long Eaton.

There were many places to see within walking distance. A lot of history there. There are many restaurants and pubs to choose from and they offer good value for money.
People were very friendly and helpful.
A nice city for a break. You must visit the oldest pubs there. It is an experience not to be missed.

The room was clean but requires a larger hand basin and more modern table. The Boot Room pub is worth a visit to see the Nottingham Forest memorabilia. Buy an all day ticket and travel to all parts of the city.

I only stayed for one night on this occasion. There is a lot of history around the city centre and outlying areas. I particularly love Trent Bridge and the embankment for it's sporting connections but also the tranquility.

We didn’t visit the centre, but took our fold up bikes and visited parks local to the Jubilee campus. The area was great for cycling, really nice routes with lots of greenery, trees, flowers, so that you feel close to nature. Well done Nottingham!

We’ve always enjoyed Nottingham since our daughter went to university there in 2009. She liked it so much she stayed.
City life is excellent.
Easy striking distance of other areas and things to do
The location, perfect for a theatre visit with lots of local choice for pre theatre meals and after theatre drinks. We were upgraded to a premier double which was really comfortable. Clean, roomy, with a huge bed! And the best night's sleep in a long time. Breakfast was substantial and relaxed. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Midday checkout meant no rush, and once parking was paid we could have as long as we liked to explore the city centre before picking up the car later. Really good value for money.
Good choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Plenty of oat and soya milk. Plenty of choice for vegetarians / vegans. Gluten free cereal available if you ask.
Very comfortable room: fairly basic, but perfect for what I needed.
Lovely shower. Excellent toiletries.
Fantastic location right in the city centre.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
View from the hotel windows is amazing. You can see the Castle from the windows near the stairs.
- Rooms are extremely cheap and just like how the old saying goes "you get what you pay for".
- Parking right at the front of the hotel, with no extra charge at all
- The women cleaner we met was extremely nice
- 80/90s decor throw-back experience
- Very close to city centre
Very cozy, it had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the self bar at the lobby. And the hotel is located close to the city centre and university, so it was perfect for us. The personnel were kind and helpful.
