We did part of the Northumberland Coastal walk (Cresswell to Dunstanburgh) and found the locals to be very friendly. Lots of free car parks near the coast, very well sign posted and plenty of benches.

Came for the Northumbrian Gathering.
Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

The Joiners Arms for beer and Martino Lounge for food worth a visit as are the Carlisle Park where Emily Davidsons statue is situated. But quite a mix of places to visit.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!

Morpeth is a lovely little town.
Morpeth is a lovely little town. Highlights for me were the bagpipe museum - really is great - the park and all the little shops, especially the cheese shop by the clock tower. I went in windy January on a bicycle, which was not ideal, but I still really enjoyed myself.

We were only there for one night for a family birthday so did not get the opportunity to visit all the shops in the town centre. We did go to a fantastic Italian Restaurant Lollo Rosso which served amazing food and such attentive and friendly staff.
I really liked the whole experience of staying at Drovers. It was straightforward dealing with the property owner who was really helpful as was the person who I collected the keys from. Everything was in close proximity to the property and always a car space was available in the street which was very quiet and well kept. I really enjoyed staying in Morpeth with the range of places to visit, cafes and restaurants which were excellent value and quality.
We'd booked a deluxe double room, but Carmen swapped us to the sumptuous honeymoon suite, perfect as we had our Civil Partnership ceremony during our stay in Morpeth!
Great range of self serve breakfast basics in addition to various cooked breakfasts on offer.
Location is excellent, within 5 mins walk from shops, restaurants and bus station, but very quiet at night. Lovely walks from the door along by the river & some excellent pubs!
Gorgeous little basement apartment, a sweet outdoor sitting area, a convenient walk to stores and historic venues. Our hosts made a lovely "breakfast box" to help us get through the first morning before we could go grocery shopping, which delighted my son to no end. And the shower was awesome! The book of local information was full of great stuff to help anyone find things to do, and the bed!!! Oh, that bed was SO comfy!
Great place to start or have a break when cycling or visiting the area.
Book for evening meal or you will be disappointed. Very popular restaurant excellent food and service!!
Bed and breakfast good value for money.
Full english breakfast was delicious and just the right size.
Beautifully decorated restaurant.
If you want a quiet and tranquil place to rest and charge up your batteries, this is the place.
The location was fantastic , very quiet with nice views , the lodge was very cosy and the hot tub was great. It had everything you need for a self catering holiday and the bottle of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch , the wi-fi was very good and we had a really nice stay.
The restaurant staff were delightful as was the food, very nice relaxed feeling to the dining area and drinks lounge.
The breakfast staff were also lovely, and same goes for our goodbye from a nice lady who i believe was the general manager (dark hair).
Staff were friendly and flexible with our arrival times, breakfast was freshly cooked each morning and was very good quality.
The rooms were quiet and clean, would definitely stay again if in the area as really good value for money.
Perfect for what we needed. We were in Morpeth for the weekend for a friends wedding. The guest house was walking distance to town and easy to come and go as we pleased.
Breakfast was great and host was very helpful and friendly.
Location excellent for retreat I attended in Whalton village. Hotel decor somewhat shabby and dated BUT cleanliness excellent, breakfast delicious, staff very friendly and helpful. I would certainly return! Thank you very much!
Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable - we had a lovely sleep. The food on the evening was amazing and the breakfast was lovely too. Staff were all lovely.
The cottage was in an excellent location! Right in the heart of Morpeth but still lovely and quiet at night. It could not have been any cleaner and bed linen smelled lovely.
Everything was amazing. Beautiful hotel, incredible room, lovely food and so dog friendly. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and it was a perfect stay.
The location was great for being close to stores, restaurants and downtown. The hotel staff were friendly. The hotel is basic however for the price it did the job.
Room was spotless. Staff were all really friendly and efficient. Food was amazing. Location great for us, just a little drive from Morpeth.
Will return.
