The Old Mill is a beautiful home that has been decorated with exceptional taste! The bedrooms are spacious and beautiful. The hosts are friendly and very helpful, answering questions about the area. We walked St Cuthbert’s Way and Peter answered many of our questions about the path and local birds, etc. Breakfast was a delight in the sunroom with views of their flower garden. Beautiful calming classical guitar played as we ate a delicious breakfast!

We stayed in the actual Inn although there was also chalet accommodation which was situated in the pub carpark. If parking a car beware that the sap from the trees makes your car sticky and wasps are attracted to it.

There is not much in Milfield itself, the Red Lion Pub - where we stayed and a cafe which didn't seem to be open. However, the location is good for visiting the wider area - we visited Kielder (about 90mins drive), Berwick and Lindisfarne (about 30mins drive). Plus the countryside around here is wonderful.

Food and welcome were excellent. Location was really good.
Food and welcome were excellent. Location was really good. Big bathroom was lovely. TV was tiny and hard to see from the bed but we didn't really use it. Parked right next to the room. Really enjoy our stay there. Would go again .
