It's hard for me to write these negatives, but it's already caught up with me. My partner and I have been here several times. The apartment is very nice but lacks a lot in terms of cleanliness and supplies. I brought this to the owner's attention, he promised to fix it, but he didn't. We are very sorry, if this doesn't work next time we will try to look for something else. Maybe we'll try to go back and then I'll decide. This time it was really bad. The seat has not been cleaned since last year - ugly big stains. The curtains are covered in white stains - maybe milk? And stocks this time at zero. There was no washing up liquid, no soap, no shampoo, no kitchen roll and to top it off - absolutely no toilet paper. Just nothing. We had to buy everything. The clothes dryer was broken and the shoe rack was also broken. Very sad. We left the apartment with flu and fever because the heating was turned off, the boiler was locked. We bought a small electric heater, but it did not heat the apartment. Very noisy in the bedroom from the fan in the bathroom and through the closed window in the bedroom it was blowing so hard that it lifted the curtain. It was absolutely unbearable. We slept in the living room on a broken and dirty couch. I won't comment on what dirt was under it when we took it apart... :-(

This is a great place but 3 days is about right as many places are either closed or on reduced hours e.g. Captain Cook and Dorman? Museum. I went to Redcar and Saltburn for the other days which were very worthwhile.
The Saltholme nature reserve is a great attraction and caters for young and old alike. The modern visitor centre gives great views of the large reserve and the numerous hides scattered across the enormous site give fantastic views of the many different birds.
The visit to the Transporter visitor centre was fascinating but it would be great if they could repair the Transporter which would be a drawcard for so many people in the UK and beyond.
Public transport is very reliable and frequent and the train travel to the places mentioned above was very cheap and quick.

Spent most of our time at an event at the university so didn't get to see much of Middlesbrough. Lots of places serving food but especially loved The Tea House, Grange Road with its large selection of teas and cakes.
Loved the fountain and light display opposite the Holiday Inn too

On the second evening I stayed at this property the door was physically kicked off the hinges at half 1 in the morning by 3 drug dealers coming to collect an outstanding debt by one of the permanent people who lives there. The door wasn't fixed for 48hrs leaving the place completely open to anyone wanting to gain entry. The place is a dump and without doubt the worst experience i've ever had whilst contracting around the U.K. avoid at all costs.

Location is great for Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, saltburn and North York national park
Overall avoid if you want pretty scenery but practically great for families with asda nearby and all major towns/sites within 10-15 minutes distance
For Muslim visitors: A small masjid only 2 mins walk from the hotel with sisters section and a halal takeaway at 5 mins
Breakfast was amazing for choice, speed and freshness.
Location was good, we had a concert at Riverside stadium 13 min drive away 16 pound each way taxi but we drove parked at town centre carpark free after six .
Nightmare to get out took 2 hours suggest a taxi and good pick up point .
Very well located hotel in the centre of Middlesbrough. A few minutes walk from the pubs of Baker Street and a mile from the football ground. Staff friendly and helpful, good wi-fi and air-con and the rooms were clean. Good breakfast. Easy parking in the adjacent car park.
Beautifully clean, well equipped and comfy. Easy walk to the big hospital, pub/carvery and small convenience store. Parking fine, if no car its right on a bus route to central Middlesbrough or in the other direction a mile or so to local shops and big park.
Comfortable, spotlessly clean, friendly welcome, good sized rooms, quiet and parking permit for street parking adjacent. 10 - 15 minute walk to town centre. Decent area. Nice breakfast - orange juice, full English, toast, coffee / tea. Well recommended.
The hotel is right in the centre of town close to the Town Hall, so handy for events at the Town Hall. The car park is right behind the hotel. Self service breakfast included in the price, with a good choice and an excellent early start.
Great location in the City Centre. Linens were hotel quality as advertised. Comfy beds. Fast wifi. Well equipped kitchen, dining and communal TV room.Plus I had a TV in my room - I did have to bring my own firestick as advised.
the blue bell is a great hotel , near the town centre .all rooms are clean and functional.
the pub is excellent, great atmosphere and really great food menu at reasonable prices.
