FAQs about hotels in Manchester

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Whether you’re flying into Manchester International Airport for business or partying in one of the 500 bars in city, Booking.com’s hotels and apartments can match your accommodation needs.

    Best was: Bridgewater RHS Gardens (best), War Museum, Lowery, Mrs Gaskell's House, Pankhurst Centre, Peoples Museum, Trafford Centre. In general there is a lot to do in Manchester and was our 3rd visit. Trams are fun. Less good: Science Museum as intended more for children.

    Beautiful industrial heritage buildings together with impressive modern architecture. Excellent tram network. Visited the historic John Ryland's Library and the Hidden Gem Catholic Church. Lots of options for eating and good quality food. Very friendly people ready to help. Worth visiting Afflick's market for bargains, super good ice cream and great ambiance. Just an amazing city where modern meets traditional.

    Just an amazing city where modern meets traditional. A vibrant place filled with beautiful architecture and culture, all with a feeling of togetherness and a real sense of the spirit of the Mancunian people. A warm convivial and friendly place which welcomes all comers. Such a diverse mix of restaurants, bars and eating places to cater for all tastes. The trams are fantastic. the lifeblood of the city centre and a great way to get around easily. The City has shrugged off its grim up North appearance and now bristles with businesses, new buildings and opportunities. Not the cheapest place to visit but certainly much better value than London. Hoping to be back very very soon. For culture, art, music and spirit, Manchester is where it's at. Nearly as good as Glasgow ;}

    The room had great facilities, was clean and had loads of available sockets. Good amount of parking and a separate entrance for hotel guests from the entrance once you checked in. Be mindful if you are checking in at a peak dinner time that you have to walk through the restaurant to check in, we were not well dressed. Otherwise it's only a ten min walk to the station and a ten min train into Manchester Piccadilly. I'd stay here again 👍

    The reception staff were lovely and the venue itself is perfect if you want to party in the city. Very comfortable rooms. Fun lighting and very clean. Love the bed! The hotel is really close to everything, so you’ll be fine getting around by foot and even with an Uber. It’s about 10 minutes to the main city centre. We had a great stay in Manchester. Hotel is situated right in the heart of the city centre, near the turbulent, creative, Northern Quarter, where we spent most of our time. Hotel offers typical Motel One standard, which is definitely over the average. Everything is very stylish and modern. Space in the room is cleverly used. Comfortable bed. Cozy lobby invites for a drink in the evening hours. Fair price.

    The hotel receptionist at the time (I think he was called Adam) was absolutely amazing. He gave us some amazing advice on how best to get to Manchester city centre and which part of the Christmas market to aim for. The spa was amazing, and just what we needed for the short break. The room was small, but catered to our needs as the bed was extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here.
