Lowestoft is a busy working port. It has stunning beaches with golden sands.
We have family who chose to live there so we are lucky enough to visit them often.
We are wildlife lovers so there are so many places to visit a ride away like Minsmere and Carlton Marshes and the Norfolk coast.
The trip boat for Oulton Broad goes from right outside the Wherry Hotel and smaller boats can be hired.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town.
Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town. A beautiful beach south of the town, great for bathing, games and walks, and a beach north of the town that is more scenic but inaccessible due to the tides and ruined old sea wall. Loads of local attractions to visit including Africa Alive, the Transport museum, Sparrows Nest Park, Oulton Broad and Claremont Pier. Some great restaurants to eat at, but especially Sgt Peppers on the High Street. And being the most easterly place in the UK, make sure you get up early to see the sun rise. Spectacular on a clear morning!

Lovely seaside town with harbour and river interest. They have special hotels for the Kittiwakes out at sea and a colourful pier. Oulton Broad provides some lovely lake views and sunsets with boats and kids play park. It is a great destination for the family and only a short ride away.
Lowestoft has long promenade with cycle lane and gardens and nice cafes.
The beaches are stunning with golden sands and beach huts.
There is a good bus service around the coast to Southwold, a gem, and Great Yarmouth.

Interesting seaside town.
Interesting seaside town. South Beach was perfect plenty of places to eat. The town centre altho big seemed a bit tired but the beach and front area had a buzz about it. The port side of it made it interesting too
Stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and swore would never return. However new owners and good reviews made me try again and am glad I did. Public areas and room comfortably warm that was not the case previously. Good facilities in the room, excellent breakfast and a good evening meal if slightly limited menu but I was out of season. Lovely grounds, plenty of parking and the owner, manager and staff friendly and helpful. I will return.
The bed and the breakfast were outstanding. Mark and Derek were fabulous hosts, always ready with some advice and help and so very friendly. The house is so tastefully decorated, a truly beautiful example of Victorian Lowestoft, so much so that I would buy it if I had a chance. The beds and pillows were so comfy, something really important to us, and the breakfast I can honestly say was the best I'd ever had in a hotel or B&B.
A buffet breakfast was included in the price. Plenty of choice and the friendly coffee lady made you welcome.
Food is served virtually all day so we were able to have late lunches.
The hotel itself is a lovely old building with carved wooden staircases and stained glass windows and a dining area looking over the broad.
Breakfasts were very good, and catered for my allergy requirements. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice glimpse of the sea. I would say that the hotel is located in the the nicer part of Lowestoft (and the beach is beautiful sand). The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Good location as behind the main hotel which is on the seafront. The main hotel had nice decor, lovely coffee and cake, views of sunrise from public areas.
The hotel is very pleasing.
The room we had in the lodge was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
The TV was large and had a good picture.
A very pleasant country hotel with lovely gardens surrounding. The only staff member I saw on arrival was a lady who appeared to be waitress, bar lady and receptionist all in one. Although very busy, she remained very pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was again, very pleasant.
Friendly hotel in elegant part of Lowestoft with nice views of the sea. About 15 mins walk to the high st. Really good and well cooked breakfast. Small lounge and no bar now. Had a nice spacious room with a sea view and a very effective radiator!
Beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Two minute walk from beach front. After being at work all day it was a lovely place to go back too.
Next time we are in lowestoft we will definitelybe booking again.
Thank you
Everything was easy accessable. The staff where lovely and the food was great. The lady with the ponytail was pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was a very definite highlight to our stay in the Hotel.
the location of the Parkhill Hotel was excellent. the food was 1st class especally the breakfast, and the staff was very good and friendly, in an ideal situation for touring Norfolk and Suffolk.
View from the bedroom ... beach, sea and pier !! What a winner! Very attentive and friendly staff with a yummy breakie to boot :-) Definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the area.
Only stayed for one night and can find no fault with the hotel or staff. Lowestoft will never be an attractive town but the southern parade around Claremont Pier is a pleasant enough spot.
Good location, very friendly hosts, delicious cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend this B&B if you're visiting Lowestoft or the surrounding area.
