We love the facilities and everything are well organized. The location is not that fae from Kirkwall’s center. We can reach almost everywhere by walking distance. The bus stop is even nearby with supermarkets.
I’d highly recommend for a group of friends, regardless of gender. I traveled with a group of female.

My wife and me booked at this delightful location on our trip to Orkney. The location is about 15 minutes by car from Kirkwall Airport and about 10 minutes from Kirkwall itself. This is the ideal location to stay as its in the centre of Orkney. The location is on the waterfront (hence the name) and the views from the room are amazing with all sorts of seabirds to be viewed. The room we stayed in had the usual appliances along with a double jacuzzi bath in the en suite bathroom. The room had a little mini bar fridge that was stocked with bottles of water, soft drinks and a few chocolates. Just outside the door to the room that has a nice little kitchenette with the facilities to make yourself a nice little breakfast to start the day. When we go back to Orkney we will definitely be looking to stay here again.

A place combining plenty of history of different periods (we went on a fantastic trike trip (https://orkneytriketours.co.uk/) - great experience, visiting the Italian Chapel, standing stones and Scara Brae. The town itself has a 12-century cathedral, historical ruins, and museums, including the wireless communications museum, which was created and is being run by enthusiasts. There are also different daily art groups at Gallery 25 (https://www.facebook.com/Number25Kirkwall/?locale=en_GB) which we enjoyed joining. And the local English is very melodic - it is a pleasure listening to it! I can't say we discovered the fantastic seafood, but there is a lovely shop, The Brig Larder (https://www.jollysoforkney.co.uk/pages/the-brig-larder, one can also order local delicacies to be delivered) - again with lovely staff and a good selection of locally sourced dairy, cheese, seafood and preserves.

Kirkwall is a beautiful little city.
Kirkwall is a beautiful little city. I came for the incredible Neolithic history and to search for family ties in the area. There are many jewelry shops as well as artists studios and tweed or wool shops. The museum is also fantastic. It’s a fibre artist’s dream.

I would not stay at this hotel again out of choice .
I would not stay at this hotel again out of choice . We visited a restaurant out of town for a meal and it was superb. I then read the reviews for this restaurant with rooms which was in a beautiful location with lovely views and they were excellent also far cheaper.
The restaurant was the Foveran and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Also visited the Italian chapel and the site of the discovery of a 3000 year old settlement both of which are a must to see.
I played golf at the Kirkwall golf club very friendly and welcoming although totally self booked with honesty box available .
This is a beautifully presented and cozy property in a stunning location, and not far from Kirkwall or Stromness, and everything in between. We arrived late and the hosts were extremely accommodating in helping us to find the property in the dark, and were there for us whenever we needed them for the duration. Would reccommend this as exceptinal value for money, particularly for a family group.
Although breakfast and dinner had to be taken in the nearby Kirkwall Hotel, the quality of food was very good and service attentive without being intrusive.
Room was quiet at night
Good location opposite the harbour and ferry terminal. Shops and alternative restaurants nearby. As well as the Kirkwall Hotel, I also recommend Dil Se (Indian) and the restaurant and bar at St Ola's
If I ever find myself in Kirkwall again, I'll definitely stay here. I stayed in a big, probably recently renovated studio room with its own entrance, and basically didn't want to leave the room. The breakfast was amazing and the host the loveliest person. I slept well and was very well fed also!
Breakfast was great. Location was coinvent to shopping and local restaurants. Parking was a little hard. Public car park nearby, but had to get free ticket every hour till 5PM, then free all night. Out the next morning. Small town and able to get our clothes washed in a nearby laundromat.
Perfectly located in Kirkwall, good for the town centre and my trip to the Highland Park distillery. A good breakfast was included with the price, I was particularly pleased with the well sourced and cooked poached egg and black pudding. A very good all round hotel for the price bracket.
Very comfortable and spacious apartments. Well equipped kitchenettes. Decent wifi speed for the island. Free parking with a generous policy of allowing cars to remain parked after checkout for later departures when parking is available. Short walk downtown. Good restaurant and bar.
Absolutely fabulous hosts in a perfect quiet area of kirkwall. Out of the centre but a short walk to the centre of kirkwall. Accommodation was spotless and very well presented. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay there again. Highly recommend karrawa guest house
Debbie is a wonderful host and runs a fantastic B&B. Everything about our stay was great... well-appointed spotless rooms, tasty made-to-order breakfasts, and a quick walk to the restaurants, shops, and sights of downtown Kirkwall. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Staggering distance from Highland Park distillery. A warm welcome, clean and an interesting property with architecture, books and musical interest. Peaceful, and a modest walk into Kirkwall.
A great breakfast, delightfully presented.
Everything but the girl. Hey ho.
Situated at the heart of Kirkwall it is a spacious small apartment with two bedrooms upstairs and a living room/kitchen downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and the whole space is comfortable. Communication with our host was very good.
Food in the hotel is superb, location is central. You can get around Orkney by bus and Kirkwall town is a gem to wander and visit on foot. There are some fabulous sea food restaurants in the town so it was a magic trip.
Great location for travel to Neolithic sites (the main purpose of our visit) as well as local sights, groceries and restaurants. Good basic accommodation and value for money.
