Their hospitality was second to none. Our group were up early the next day, before anyone was on reception, as we were doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge and the hotel put together a takeaway breakfast for our group.

Very clean and of good quality. Although slept well the mattress was hard. Liked the fact it had a PIN to enter saves you remembering a key each time you went out.

Welcoming host. Good messaging even though we were later than anticipated. The host got up early to produce an excellent breakfast that was above and beyond our expectations.

Its just a beautiful, lots of cafes, pubs, restaurants and quirky little shops. Then some great walks right on the doorstep walk down the Radical steps (I suggest not walking up them unless you are full of energy and value your knees!) then right along the river to Devils Bridge. I cant recommend the Vault at the Tourist information centre, what a brilliant was to show the history of the town and why not visit the Chocolate mine in 'Chocolate'

I’ve been to Kirkby Lonsdale a number of times as my relative lives there.
Loved the brewery, which was a hidden gem. Atmosphere great, log fires and the pizzas looked lovely.
We went to Plato’s for food. There wasn’t much vegetarian choice. Also went to Avanti one night.
Lovely walk near the river and the cottage was very central to all amenities.

We had a bed breakfast and dinner deal which was exceptional value, particularly in that the dinner options weren't at all restricted - we could choose from the full menu.
Room was very pleasant and the bathroom was superb given the age of the building.
Hotel staff were lovely, both in evening and the following morning, very caring and attentive
Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely village, very pretty even in heavy rain! - and a great base for exploring Ingleton, Settle etc.
This is a charming cottage in a delightful spot right next to the church and in town. We could walk to pubs and shops, which was such fun. Parking varied, but we always found a space nearby. The kitchen was stocked with milk, butter, bread, coffee and even a bottle of Prosecco! The place is cute and cozy with room enough for two people, especially if they are not very tall. Our host was easy to contact and very responsive. We enjoyed our stay very much.
This is a very old building quite quirky plenty of parking when we arrived we couldn’t be more welcomed, although the restaurant was close at the moment due to Covid issues we went for a takeaway arriving back the owner supplied us with all the cutlery and plates we needed we took along our pup as this is a dog friendly hotel and there’s plenty of grass for her to run around. Would we go back YES we would.
Lovely cosy cottage opposite a nice church in a perfect location for visiting Kirkby Lonsdale! Nicely decorated throughout, and perfect size for 6 adults for a cosy stay (especially with the log burner going!). Good selection of board games for a boozy night in too!
Very comfortable hotel in a central but relaxing location. in KL Great breakfasts, with much more variety on offer than the "Full English" - try the Eggs Royale. The Royal has become our regular stopover en route from Highland Scotland to the South of England.
Location is wonderful in Kirkby Lonsdale. This was our second visit. Room was smaller than before but had nice window ventilation. Bathroom was neat & functional. Staff were very kind. Breakfast good. Parking is off-site and a brief walk away.
We loved the location and being in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale. We enjoyed being within walking steps to great restaurants and shops. On street parking was very easy, despite our visit during a bank holiday weekend.
We’ve been to Plato’s on previous visits to Kirkby Lonsdale so know what to expect. Once again it was very comfortable with an excellent breakfast.
Great too having a free parking voucher.
We have stayed at The Sun Inn before. We love Kirkby Lonsdale, such a beautiful place.
The rooms, food and staff at The Sun Inn are brill. Highly recommended.
Really quirky quaint accommodation right in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale. Really nice touches especially the two beers from the brewery and tea and coffee.
Friendliness of staff, cleanliness of accommodation and the very good cooked breakfast. Central position in town so near everything and quiet despite this.
