The Cluanie Inn, hotel in Kintail

The Cluanie Inn is located in the remote wilderness of the picturesque Glen Shiel on the way to the Isle of Skye.

The surrounding is good. We arrived quite late which the restaurant is almost close. So, the staff was so nice and suggested us to get dinner and come back for check-in later. The food at restaurant is so great as well.

I arrived at a hotel which is about 7 minutes’ drive from the hostel on a rainy evening. Without a car, it would take me over an hour to walk to the hostel but Grant managed to find a friend to give me a lift. He was warm and patient to assist me and make my stay really enjoyable. The picturesque view of the loch and mountains in front of the hostel is definitely what I’ll never forget. On the day I left, Hervé offered me a lift to the bus stop. Many thanks to Grant and Hervé. I strongly recommend this hostel.

A walkers paradise although they could be vastly improved with better mapping. Easy access to Skye and the drive to Applecross is a must. Although not for the faint hearted. Lunch at the applecross inn makes up for it - delicious. Photographers will love this area too as there is a beautiful vista round every corner.
