The room was extremely cozy, comfortable and it felt very traditional, along with the house. The location has a beautiful view outside, which was relaxing, and it's in a pretty good spot to allow you to explore the rest of the region. The breakfast was all home-made on the spot and the host was, without exaggeration, the kindest and most welcoming one I have met in a long time - she was an absolute joy to talk to.

What an absolutely beautiful location. It was very clean and welcoming. Vicki always has a smile when she sees you and has made her little B&B a place to completely relax. From the muffins, tea, and drinks, to her home cooked breakfast of your choice, she tends to her guests’ every need. The bed was comfy, the room was tastefully decorated, and the view was spectacular. I could walk that little beach for days. We’ll be back!

Greshornish House Hotel, hotel in Kilmaluag

Large country home that has been converted to a B&B. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast (included) and dinners. Lovely lounge with fire going all the time. I enjoyed looking at their booklet describing all their local whisky. It was fun to watch the Chinese Golden Pheasants that were wandering around the property.

Stein Inn, hotel in Kilmaluag

Located in Stein and with Dunvegan Castle reachable within 10 miles, Stein Inn has concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Guests can have a drink at the bar.

A stay at the Stein Inn is like stepping into a relaxing world away from everything. The drive to get there on a single track is surprising and when you get to the dead end, you can’t believe how beautiful it is. Some rooms are small and some are large, but they all have a great view of the loch. There is a very comfortable lounge area. The bar is well stocked and Stephen is glad to help you find a whiskey that you would like. The food is absolutely incredible. Definitely have to have reservations. We had some of the best calamari we’ve ever had along with duck breast appetizer, smoked fish appetizer , monkfish, lobster, venison and the fish and chips are large and very good. All the food we had during our two day stay was excellent. Breakfast is also very good with choices of egg, bacon, salmon, and the porridge is excellent especially with the warm fruit compote . The staff is excellent and the rooms are clean. With fine touches like Skye woven blankets, and very comfy towels. Absolutely highly recommend staying here more than one night.

Beautiful scenery, great areas to walk, near the sea.

Beautiful scenery, great areas to walk, near the sea. We visited Kilt Rock, took photos of the waterfall. great base, quiet. Nice romantic getaway. The pot holes on the isle of Skye are really bad in places especially when travelling in the dark as they are hard to see. we were aware that this is an issue so drove very slowly in the dark.

The facilities were very adequate but not well maintained.

The facilities were very adequate but not well maintained. There were a number of issues that, since we are familiar with tools and technology we were able to address some of the issues to meet needs. There clearly was a need for updating the facilities and resupply the kitchen. The cottages are in the country with no restaurants close, so we did our own cooking. Skye is not a large island so traveling to another location is not very time consuming with the exception of single lane roads, requires slow going. Staying in Portree or other parts of the island nearer restaurants or pubs would have been more pleasant for us.
