The Lounge Team was wonderful! They went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful hosts. They made me love Penrith! Also, the included breakfast was delicious. They did a great job of accommodating my allergies/restrictions. It is also in a prime location near ample shops and restaurants.

The welcome was exceptional. The room was comfortable and very clean. The bathroom and products were really very good. The water got hot quickly and the shower was excellent.
The towels were soft and the bed and pillows comfortable. The coffee and tea was quality and we were given a flask of real milk for the room which was a very nice thought.
Breakfast was waitress service which was lovely. The food and coffee was very tasty and well cooked. We liked the granola and yogurt very much.
Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs.

The place was not like the picture on line. It looked as if it was abandoned except there was a note on the door with a phone number to call. We did this and a staff member came to open the building to show us to our rooms. The rooms looked clean enough but the carpets were very worn and decor was tired. The beds were clean and were not uncomfortable . The bath in one room had a shower over it but there was no hot water so impossible to take a shower. In the second room there was a shower cubicle but again no hot water and in fact there was insufficient water pressure to allow a shower to be taken. There was no breakfast but we were aware of this when I booked. Our vehicle was damaged whilst on the car park. we decided to leave as soon as possible the next morning. I think the castlegate arms would be suited to workers without high expectations of more than a bed for the night.
