Moira was a wonderful host and very accommodating and friendly. Lovely, quirky property in a listed building - it was warm, comfortable and had everything you would need for self catering accommodation.
Easy parking, nice private courtyard filled with flowers to sit outside, fireplace with a basket full of additional wood.
Moira has thought of everything to make your stay easier from tea and coffee, milk in the fridge, shower products, new toothbrushes to nail files in case you forget yours.
Highly recommend.

The location was really nice. I liked how the owner offered us the studio apartment when there may have been problems with the cabin due to the weather.

The Blue Bell pub provides excellent food and beer and the locals are friendly. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. The beautiful countryside hereabouts is a delight for walkers. Look out for red deer.

A remote quiet setting. Very dog friendly.
A remote quiet setting. Very dog friendly. Would have been a bit of a dark trek to the local pub down the winding track in Winter and ascending on return. The local pub sadly wasn't open on our visit but the owners pre-booked us into the Golden Lion at nearby Osmotherley, which was much appreciated. Food was lovely, nice pub and friendly staff. All Covid secure. B&B a good base for exploring local attractions such as Cod Beck reservoir, the Lordstones, and Mount Grace Priory. Had hoped to walk the Lordstones but the weather was ghastly, very foggy! Mount Grace Priory is not dog friendly so we didn't book to go there. Plenty to see and do without having to drive too far.
