I needed a reasonable priced accommodation for a couple of nights while visiting family, The Dilkhusa Hotel, was excellent value for money,
Very clean, comfortable, white fluffy towels, crisp white sheets and I had everything I needed in the room. The widows open, which is great for me as I get warm at night.
It's in a very good location, with a bus stop just outside and cafés and restaurants close by.
The breakfast was good, a choice of cereal, yogurt and fruit, followed by a hot choice. I had bacon, sausage, beans and scrambled egg with toast. All very good.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Overall a very good stay.

This is premium B & B accommodation in a fantastic central location in Ilfracombe. End of season, so free parking overnight was available across the street. The house has been extensively renovated in recent years so everything was attractively presented, clean and in good working order. Jonah the host was welcoming and made us a delicious cooked breakfast.

The rooms were really clean and staff were brilliant
Set on a North Devon cliff top with an area of outstanding natural beauty wrapped around the hotel with stunning sea views.
Fantastic location. Very comfortable. Helpful staff.

I visited for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The High Street is rather run down but the shops around the harbour were very pleasant. I had an evening meal at a little Italian restaurant opposite Weatherspoons and it was excellent. I loved the coastal path. Ilfracombe is very hilly so be prepared for some steep climbs!

Combe Martin is a village on coast about 5 miles from Ilfracombe but with good regular (and cheap) bus link. Coastline is rugged and very interesting - good walking country (coastal path 10 minutes from cottage). Ilfracombe has a harbour and beaches and the usual seaside facilities.

Illfracombe is a great place to visit with plenty to do.
Illfracombe is a great place to visit with plenty to do. It has some great restaurants, a museum, a theatre a decent highstreet to shop in and the beach tunnels are well worth a visit.
You also have lots of places around Illfracombe to visit such as Watermouth Castle, Mote Point, Combe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth and much more.

The location looking over the harbour was lovely.
The location looking over the harbour was lovely. Not many places to eat around the harbour other than chips. Would have liked meat and vegetables. Bus service was very good and the walks were great. The cafe round the corner was an excellent start to the day.

Our accommodation was in perfect spot as walking distance to town/harbour and shops. Found an amazing Italian restaurant (Giovanni & Luca) with wonderful food, also went to Terrace Tapas & Wine Bar - again great food and great hosts. If the weather had been better we might have stayed longer. Nice array of shops with 2 supermarkets a bonus!

Ilfracombe has the potential to be a great seaside town, but...
Ilfracombe has the potential to be a great seaside town, but the building stock is not in great condition. We had an odd experience of not being able to get a proper meal for the entire 2 days we stayed here. Restaurant kitchens closed at 7:30 pm. Most places were serving nibbles only so we basically ate nibbles only for 2 days in Ilfracombe. The coastal path is great to walk, but the beaches are not very pretty and they all have crying children and loud, barking dogs on them.

Right from start to finish our visit to the Carleton Hotel was a fantastic experience. Michael is a great host and made us very welcome. All the staff we met couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is spotless in every area. Our room was beautiful and again spotless. It was exceptionally equipped with high quality toiletries and a safe that could hold a full size laptop.
Location is fantastic as it is close to all the amenities and attractions in Ilfracombe.
We would most definitely go back.
A great stay at Horne Cottage, would return and definitely recommend to others. The location is excellent - a short walk to Ilfracombe harbour/amenities and well located to reach other parts of North Devon by short car journey. The cottage was pristine and very comfortable, especially beds and beautifully laundered linen/towels provided. Check-in/out was very easy via a keysafe and meant we could arrive any time, we didn't meet the hosts in person but they're just next door if needed.
The owners were extremely welcoming, surprisingly serving Tea and Scones by arriving. Best breakfast I had during my stay in North Devon. Absolutely delicious. Bathroom and room spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Thanks again for „acting as a taxi driver“ to Woolacombe, making my troubles less complicated. Once in Ilfracombe again, I would definitely stay at Grosvenor House.
The hotel is central to everything in Ilfracombe. The room was lovely, spacious and immaculate. Breakfast was delicious, hot and well cooked. The whole hotel was lovely, clean, warm and comfortable.
Donna and Paul were great, breakfast was lovely, room was fresh, new and clean with anti bac wipes provided.
Short drive to Ilfracombe Harbour which is also walkable from the hotel.
