The room was cosy with really comfortable beds, an armchair, decent shower and a beautiful view. The pub itself has been recently refurbished, still keeping its local village pub charm. Breakfast was included: anything from full English to a bacon sandwich and was really tasty. Richard is a friendly and accommodating host and I would recommend to anyone to stay here in this beautiful village of Thurstonland at the top of the hill

Holmbridge is a great location for anyone looking for a proper break/disconnect to the countryside. Holmfirth which is the bigger town is just over a mile - and it's a lovely pleasent walk. The Pickled Pheasent is an amazing place to stay, very cosy, warm and run by a family who care about customers. The Holmfirth Vineyard is is Holmbridge - a good walking route from the Pickled Pheasent. It's a really nice day out if you do the wine tour and tasting, and include lunch. There a multiple walks from the Pickled Pheasent - and they are very varied (forests/hills/resovoirs) so it's a great spot for keen walkers! I would go again to Holmbridge and Holmfirth, it's a lovely spot.

We didn’t get the opportunity to explore Holmbridge during our stay as our reason for staying was to attend a wedding but it’s a lovely, quaint village with plenty of amenities, stunning surroundings and beautiful walks.

It is a lovely area with many picturesque walks. There are lots of eateries to choose from, 'The Catch' is an excellent fish restaurant I would recommend. The Holmfirth Winery is minutes drive away and well worth visiting. The wine tour and afternoon Tea were excellent.

Nice that we were not in the main part of Holmfirth, which would get very busy with tourists. We walked into Holmfirth and got the bus back. We walked around the local reservoir, very nice. Parking is limited because it's old terraced houses which were built before cars were around, so you can't have the nice atmosphere without it being a little bit inconvenient!
