The staff were so friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel staff were dealing with an emergency water leak, it did not affect our stay at all. The location was so lovely.

a nice quiet location that would be great on a summers evening sitting by the canal ( although I imagine the place would extremely busy,) I had a quiet room overlooking the courtyard , clean , comfy decent wifi when needed , decent shower and good breakfast, great choice of very sensibly priced food in the pub

The staff were more than happy to help with all of our requests. They asked us to check the set up of the room before we went up, and when we came down to let them know the sofa bed wasn't set up, they sorted it out very quickly with no grumbles.
The man who checked us in (I didn't get his name) was extremely friendly and really wanted to make sure we were comfortable. He was brilliant.

The room was comfortable but decor was an unsuccessful attempt at "upscale, shabby chic"; the painted rough timber was a bit industrial. Added to this, the decor elsewhere in the room was tired and looked as if it had been "done on the cheap".
Public areas were better but the restaurant was quite cool when we ate dinner at 7.30pm. The food was fine but we didn't have breakfast as it wasn't included in the rate.
Situated in the heart of Tutbury, this splendid 15th-century inn, steeped in history and full of character, boasts traditional open log fires and oak beams.

Don't go unless you don't really care that much for a good night's sleep or good decor. Food was mediocre, said homemade chips, definitely not, frozen. Quite expensive for cheap ingredients. The staff here however were lovely, young but very nice and worked hard.

The property was absolutely perfect.
The property was absolutely perfect. I would like to say it’s not Hilton it is in Hatton. We only stayed one night after visiting relatives in Barnsley. It was a perfect stop to visit The National memorial Arboretum. From there we travelled to Somerset .

Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. We were there for two nights and had no hot water for our entire stay. We were offered an alternative room but, on checking room with staff member, this room had no hot water either. We were offered a shower in the main building as our room was in a separate annex building. Room was not serviced during our stay. We were promised a full refund but so far this has not been forthcoming. I emailed the hotel through their website early this week and so far have had no reply.

Staff very friendly, helpful and approachable.
Hotel very clean and modern inside, lots of old features kept to date the building.
Beds very comfortable with lovely warm rooms and nice hot water.
Plenty of tea and coffee.
Towels were nice and soft not too hard and crispy.
The staff were having a few issues during our stay but they overcame them with professionalism.
We thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the locals as well.
Thank you all the team for making our say enjoyable.
Meals were very good. We had dinner and breakfast and were very happy with the food, the quantity and the price. Having to eat gluten free and dairy free, I was extremely pleased that my dietary problems were well catered for. The chef came out to check with me and offer me alternative suggestions.
Also plenty of hot water and the hotel was warm, which was much appreciated.
The hotel was really good for what we needed. Myself and my kids spent the day at Alton Towers.
Hotel has some interesting history behind it also which was a bonus.
The breakfast was good, hot and quick service.
The staff was very attentive.
Would stay again 👍🏼
The staff at Hilton House were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had a brilliant time - including stepping in to make sure we were ok when our taxi let us down. Our thanks to them for everything they did.
the hotel was good nice clean and tidy rooms, food was ok thought it was a little pricey but tasted ok, breakfast was great it was a large portion of a hot cooked meal as well as cereal and juice.
Hotel was better than expected. Room very nice, breakfast good and staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel could do with a lick of paint upstairs but other than that it was very good.
