The Rose & Crown, Snettisham, hotel in Heacham

Set in Snettisham, 14 km from Houghton Hall, The Rose & Crown, Snettisham offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

On approach a delightful old pub at the roadside with appropriate roses growing up the walls! It was all I had hoped for - lovely room (with a bath!), good food, pleasant friendly staff and easy parking. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We appreciated the option of fresh coffee in our room & being able to access fresh milk.

We have visited Heacham for over 40 years. This was a return for nostalgia's sake and we were not disappointed. we had a very enjoyable time both in Heacham and the surrounding towns and villages.

Heacham has a lovely quiet sandy beach with amazing sunsets if you're lucky. This is a large village with lots of amenities - the local Tesco was brilliant, we didn't try the pubs, bakers, butchers and cafes but the reviews were good. There are plenty of local walks within and around the village. It is not far from Hunstanton, The Lavender Farm and a large Lidl with easy access to all of Norfolk. We went with a baby and toddler and there were loads of activities nearby including farms, train rides, the beach, Sea Life at Hunstanton and lots for older children and adults too.

If you love walking along beaches for miles, and nearby historical sites only a short car ride away, then Heacham is well placed for providing an excellent self catering base to use as a launch pad to many other places in Norfolk.

A nice quiet relaxing atmosphere, perfect place for walking along the prom to Hunstanton if you want to avoid the roads, but sufficient shops for necessities in the village if you don’t want to go far, friendly local pubs for a meal out,a perfect place to relax.

Heacham is a mostly pleasant place to visit, looks like some of the shops, cafes etc have struggled to survive the pandemic and cost of living crisis. The main downside was the beach, which wasn’t particularly picturesque and was too polluted to go in the water. It’s close to some very pretty areas and better beaches though, which is where we spent most of our time.

Very close to beach with a fab view of sunset.

Very close to beach with a fab view of sunset. Old Hunstanton is about 15 mins away by car, which has an even better beach. Heacham is a pretty peaceful town. Recommend Snettisham Park, safari deer ride, plenty of farm animals, about 10 min drive from Heacham.
