Devonshire Arms, hotel in Hartington

Devonshire Arms has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Hartington. The property is located 12 miles from Buxton Opera House, 15 miles from Chatsworth House and 15 miles from Alton Towers.

The room was stunning. Our view was onto another building but it wasn't about that, the design, facilities and comfort of the room were stunning, we were blown away. The small touches like the dog bowls (even though we didn't have a dog with us, we are dog lovers and noticed them), the power show (wow!), the bed, just everything :)

Nice popular village with lots of walks in the area and a few you can do right from your door. It also has 2 good pubs both of which do nice food (booking very muchrecommended). The village shop is excellent and seems to sell almost anything you could need. The baps (I'd call them cobs being from Leics) are particularly nice and good value.

Very pleasant small village, perhaps a bit "touristy", but not surprising considering its location. Small and very easy to walk round. Free street parking in centre, but I think there is a pay parking area. Two pubs/hotels. We avoided the Charles Cotton due to our experience on a previous visit. Enjoyed the other one, but can't remember its name. Pleasant small cafe, which is also local Post Office - lovely ice cream!! Well-stocked village shop.

The YHA Hartington was a beautiful grand building with lovely communal areas to sit and relax in. The grounds were lovely too. The staff were also absolutely amazing and helpful. It was very convenient having the breakfast and dinner options before and after a long day of hiking around the Peak District. The seclusion of the area is really lovely if you want to get away for a few days from your phones and all of that.

We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didn’t expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Devonshire Arms following a fantastic day at Chatsworth. While the hotel isn't conveniently located next door, the drive is acceptable. The Devonshire Arm is located in a he charming village setting. The room, we were pleased with its layout and size. It had a nice ambience and provided ample space for us to relax and unwind.

The location of Manifold at Hartington Courtyard was central to the village. Easy private parking next to the unit. It was nice to have laundry facilities in the room next door. The amenities of the cottage were nice and the write-up about the hikes and history of the area were wonderful.
