Stayed 2 nights and never seen any other guests seemed to be the only person there both nights , never seen anyone at breakfast. The breakfast was very nice There were plenty of it A few rugby people dropped the first night for drinks, Quite dated could do with a lick of paint in places ,no lift ,stairs a little steep, but quite a comfortable room ,although I had to be changed to another room ,But despite everything it wasn't all bad coffee tea biscuits in room shower was over the bath . The owner was very friendly and accommodating don't know if I would stay again due to location as I don't drive
A haven of peace and tranquility, this traditional English country house is in a unique rural setting, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a 60 acre lake, yet only 12 miles from historic Chester.

It seems nice at first but had to vacate due to the most awful smell. Management refused to do anything about it so did Booking.com I wouldn’t advise anybody to stay here. Also absolutely no atmosphere very very very overpriced in the restaurant and for drinks.

Friendly welcome, clean room, bed linen and towels.
Breakfast was simple choice and good quality.
Well maintained. Could use patio and conservatory. Cheryl and Stewart made us feel at home.
Could be a good centre for exploring Chester, the Zoo and cathedral, Liverpool and North Wales.

We ate at a busy but friendly restaurant called 'The Hart of Hartford'. We went for a drink at the historic 'Red Lion pub' (bed and breakfast) which had two friendly hosts and was dog friendly. There is a lovely golf course which we visited as a venue for our friends wedding. Hartford would be a good base for travelling to Chester and Northwich.
