We were a group of adult women staying in Kirkwall. We had one of the family rooms that worked out really well for us. Shower and amenities were good and perfect location for strolling around beautiful Kirkwall.

The room and the space were perfect for us. There was plenty of room for both of us to move around and store our kit. More importantly, Theresa was a great host - providing local thoughts on things to do and adding some flavor to the normal tourist scenery. We were far enough out of town to see the beautiful sunsets,, but close enough to drop in quickly.
Well worth the ferry ride and then some! Between Stromness and Kirkwall, neolithic and medieval ruins, beautiful scenery, the creative trail, educational opportunities, shops and cafes and restaurants and bars, there is so much to see on the Orkney Islands -- we just barely scratched the surface. We didn't even get off the main island, much to my regret. Seriously: However much time you're planning to spend here, double it, then triple that. It still won't be enough.

Situated in a stunning location, the hotel had everything I could have asked for. Great food, a nice bar and warm friendly staff. Even provided us with a packed lunch as we had to leave before breakfast on the last day to catch our ferry.
