The Lion, Tredington, hotel in Halford

Located in Shipston-on-Stour, 8.1 miles from Walton Hall, The Lion, Tredington provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Not only was The Lion a wonderful location to explore the Cotswolds (and close to Stratford-upon-Avon) it was cute, quaint and so cozy. Mark (the owner) was incredibly nice and we loved our stay at his property. I can't say enough good things! He also helped us carry our luggage up the stairs. Rooms are small, but well decorated and comfortable. We had dinner at the pub and it was delicious!

Ettington Park Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon, hotel in Halford

This luxury, 4-star Gothic mansion is set within 40 acres of lush parkland.

The exterior of the hotel is gorgeous as are the grounds. The interior is also quite nice. Some things are tired, but others are really impressive (like the moulding in the dining room). Most of the staff was attentive and friendly.

The rooms are above a country pub and newly opened Indan restaurant - you can't smell any cooking around the rooms so don't worry about that. If you have mobility challenges, this may not be the place for you to stay as there are a few uneven floors and staircases to get to the rooms (due to the age of the building). We had a freshly cooked full English breakfast before we left which was delicious.

Halford is a well-located hamlet off the Fosse Way, giving access to many of the Cotswold sites. The hamlet is really one street, very old and charming. Several of the nearby villages have excellent gastropubs, for quality eating. These are listed on the Old Manor website.
