Location is exceptional and the Climbers Bar the best pub in the country, in my opinion. Staff friendly and helpful.
Set in 6 acres of gardens, New Dungeon Ghyll is a family-run hotel featuring an excellent restaurant, and rooms with dramatic views across the Langdale Valley.

Breakfast was good, however a lot of flies hovering around the breakfast area and one of them fell into my beans. To be honest they could have been sprayed the night before infant the whole hotel seemed to have a lot of flies .

The room was a good size and the bathroom huge BUT with the tiniest shower with only a rainfall head, due to the tiny cubicle it felt really suffocating, like being water boarded! not enjoyable at all and no hook to put the alternate head up on.
Breakfast was good as was the room service food and the views were AMAZING.
Felt really unhappy about paying £12/day parking when paying £200 a night for the room. Just seemed greedy and left a bad taste.
The weather made the outdoor spa experience incredible, so relaxing. loved every minute of it.

The room and hotel were beautiful, cosy, clean and very welcoming. We were disappointed with the restaurant as it was just like a pub and not a restaurant at all. In the evening the communal areas were cold. As a non drinker I felt the choice of drinks from the bar was limited. The breakfast was excellent.

Breathtakingly beautiful! A joy to be walking in the hills, enjoying God’s outstanding creation! We stayed at the spectacular New Dungeon Ghyll and from there, we started our first wild camping adventure near Stickle Tarn as a married couple.

Probably the most scenic part of the Lake District.
Probably the most scenic part of the Lake District. Plenty of places to stay or eat. The road is quite narrow in places which means it can be slow going at times (especially weekends) . Bus service every 2 hours along the valley. Car Parks a plenty but can fill up very quickly, especially at weekends.

Beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful surroundings. An ideal stopover for walking the Cumbria Way.
A warm welcome from Finn and Marina in the very comfortable New Dungeon Ghyll hotel with good beer and excellent food.
The local National Trust bar called Sticklebarn is next door to the hotel which is warm and inviting and serves refreshments and food until 5:30pm. The choice of real ales is also very good.
There is nothing else here except beautiful scenery, sheep and walks. It has everything one needs.

The great langdales has to be the most perfect place in the UK , outstanding for anyone who loves the outdoors, there are plenty of walks, hiking, climbing, scrabbling, the most beautiful scenery at every glance.
Lovely spacious and quiet room, beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel and perfect location for hiking. A hearty breakfast. Parking on site. The adjoining pub was a bonus for a cold pint and something to eat after a long day hiking the hills. Other than some hiccups with the meals and the housekeeping, we enjoyed our stay.
